This book contains 40 haiku-inspired poems and 40 sets of corresponding affirmations originally written in response to the question, "Transcestors, what would you have wanted to hear to help you survive?" While the project centers trans* and non-binary people, anyone, regardless of gender identity, may find support and inspiration in the poems and affirmations. May all who read it work toward a safer world, free of gender-based violence.

Isazela "Zel" Amanzi (they/he) is a Blacqueer, neuroqueer and agender transbeing. They're a writer, hobby gardener and analog enthusiast (especially typewriters). Formerly a classroom teacher and food sovereignty organizer, he now integrates his M.S. Ed in Social Justice Education, certification in Early Childhood Education and formal training in Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Western Reiki, and Tantric meditation as a counter-colonial Sacred Energy Educator. Zel is the founder and Director of Sacred Pollination at Transgressive Medicine, a meditation and sound practitioner with CutiesLA, and a co-founder of Trans Yoga Project.
