Overview

As a Certified Traumatologist, Brain Health Specialist, and Board-Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner I believe that Trauma is a public health emergency in education. And traveling and working with school districts and departments of education agencies throughout the nation, I was always concerned about the same common denominator that was negatively impacting schools and that is trauma. I always state that "We can't impact how kids learn if we don't address how they feel." It is a fact that academics, school discipline, and teacher burnout will not improve until we first address the root cause which is trauma. If we don't prioritize trauma as a serious public health emergency the problem will continue to get worse in each generation.
