Fear finds Harry Straub, a frustrated writer, stalking a beautiful young woman to put realism in his writing. His friend and collaborator, Wally Gray, is secretly seeing the same young woman, and planning to eliminate her ex-husband. A serial killer enters the picture, and twisted events cause Harry to end up in jail as a possible suspect. In The Stone Killer, Harry is approached by Lieutenant Day of the Norristown police to assist in solving the serial killings of young women found lying on beds of stone. He is to assist an attractive young FBI agent, Diane Scott. Gil Ross, a troubled young man, hears a voice in his head telling him to bring the women to a secluded place. Harry becomes suspicious of Diane, who was assigned to similar cases in New Jersey. The Bed. Rudy Krashner is starting out on his own, leaving the family nest for the freedom of single life. To furnish his first apartment, he visits a furniture store and buys a large old bed. The bed is said to have a curse and a legend, and Rudy figures the girls will flip over the massive bed and its eerie markings. Strange things happen when anyone sleeps in The Bed.
