There comes a time when courage to stand out in the crowd has everything to do with caring for others. Author Melissa Miller has certainly shown her caring for the next generation with the content of her debut novel, Trinity's Hope. Rather than disappearing into a sea of virtually identical works, Ms. Miller's spot-on story can be described in a word--memorable. The story of the Carondolette's is touching, insightful and engaging. Their value system is the foundation that they stand upon in a time where doing `your thang' has become society's mantra. Beyond choices to be made within a budding relationship, the story invites the reader into a world where consequences of choice is weighed not only for self, but for others. It also opens eyes to how to love (family and others) with vulnerability and without compromise. Although most will recommend this as a teen read, Trinity's Hope is a valuable read for all ages. I read Trinity's Hope having no idea it would affect my life in the way it did. This book made me see things in life so much diffrently and made me have a better connection with God. I know I cried at least an hour while reading this book. I recommend this to all teenagers, even adults who need inspiration on finding out what God has created them to do or just for pure recreation. I just wanted to say to Mrs. Miller, job well done, and thank you sooooo much, because this book has helped me in ways that I can't explain in words!! God Bless! :D
Trinity’s Hope by Melissa Ewell Miller Beautiful! Inspirational! Wonderful Read! There were so many interesting parts of this book that I liked that it was difficult to select just one to highlight. Melissa Ewell Miller is very good at making hard to understand or applicable Biblical principles easy for all of us to learn and apply to our lives. This book transcends generations of singleness and how difficult it can be to be a single person loving the Lord and not be conformed to the ways of the world. She explains how we are one being with many distinct parts and she simplifies this by using examples that are relevant. She really helps the reader to understand how Christ is the center of your life and not your own fleshly desires. Throughout the book, Melissa Ewell Miller reiterates the principle of a Godly life and if you really want to grow spiritually you have to be willing to endure the trials the Lord sends to help you grow. I think this book would be great for someone who is a new Christian as the examples and writing make this book easy to understand especially for teenagers and singles. I have fallen in love with Trinity, her family and the characters in this book. I connected with this family on many levels because they became real to me. As a single woman, as a single mom sending her first child off to college and a woman loving the Lord, I am able to relate in many areas. I cried, I laughed, held my breath and prayed with this family. This book inspires and challenges you and your relationships in and with Christ to be better.
Message Sent From Above Trinity Carondolette, a beautiful eighteen-year-old young lady, is getting ready to leave home to go off to college. This will be her first time being away from her family and she is having difficulties dealing with it. Trinity has not had much of a social life and meeting new people is not exactly on her list of plans. She’s content receiving the love and affection that she needs from her family. Trinity also does not feel comfortable around young men her age. So when she goes off to college and bumps into a young man while moving into her dorm, she finds herself struggling in her once grounded relationship with God and wants to return home. I found “Trinity’s Hope” to be an excellent read. It’s definitely a book to be shared with young teens. It teaches the importance of waiting to get married before they think about having intercourse as well as the importance of faith and having a relationship with God. The only concerns I found with “Trinity’s Hope” is that there were many incomplete sentences. It was not enough to take away from the story, but enough to be noticed. I do recommend this book and look forward to reading many more books by Melissa Ewell Miller. Reviewed by: Sabrina 4.5 stars
