Overview

Trophy Husband by Lauren Blakely

Sometimes you can't help falling in love, even when you try to do the opposite...Successful fashion blogger McKenna Bell has spent far too long protecting herself after the way her ex-fiancé left her at the altar for a college chick he met the night of his bachelor party. Loving again, trusting again, well, that's just not in the cards. Especially now that her ex is back in town with his new woman, demanding custody of McKenna's favorite creature in the whole world--her dog. No effing way. McKenna's had enough of him, and she decides to even the score by finding her own hot young thing -- a Trophy Husband. Sure, she's only twenty-seven, but doesn't that make it even more fun -- and infuriating to her ex -- to pursue a younger man? When she declares her intentions on her daily blog, her quest quickly skyrockets in popularity, and that's when Chris enters the picture, and he's got all the assets. He's handsome, successful, and turns her inside out with a kiss to end all kisses, the kind that makes you feel like a shooting star. But loving again could mean losing again, and it's so much easier to focus on getting even, isn't it? Unless, you just can't help falling in love. Which means McKenna will have to come face to face with what she really wants in life -- protecting her heart from hurt, or letting go of her fears of a new beginning

Trophy Husband was a FANTASTIC read. It was so fresh and funny and steamy as all get out. I adored the characters and loved seeing the chemistry between McKenna and Chris sizzle right off the pages. The book stayed with me long after I finished it, Chris for even longer than that. :) This was a fun, flirty book and the best in Ms. Blakely's collection IMO.

McKenna's got issues. I understand. Her heart's been trampled on, and that sucks. But I love her because instead of doing the kind of pathetic, indiscrete Bridgit Jones wallow that degrades every woman on the planet, (i.e. fall into a bottle of vodka and a quart of ice cream and stay there for six months...and does anybody really find that amusing anymore?), she holds her head high and decides to show her ex she's moved on. (Yes, thank you. A new reaction to getting one's heart trampled). Except, inside, she hasn't gotten over the sting of betrayal. But she gamely searches for her very own trophy husband--the obvious answer to her ex's younger, aggressively limber choice. And that brings us to Chris. I loved Chris. Hot. Handsome. Brainy. He's the total package, if only McKenna can let go of her "plans" long enough to see it! The story unfolds with all of Blakely's typical humor and heat. But it's the breath-stealing affection that turns her stories into something more than mere contemporary romance. Blakely delivers another "keeper" with Trophy Husband!

DId not think this was a literary masterpiece but it was cute and fun.... Girl is dumped on the eve of her wedding and wants to get even.... Uses her blog to find a trophy husband and the rest you will have to read till the final result... Turns out the guy who left her wasn' t Mr. Right after all... Thank God!!!

Lauren Blakely did it again!!!!! This book is full of sexiness. Chris is my favorite book boyfriend of all time. How could you not love a sexy, tech savvy man who does and says all the right things!?!? The "bad boy" character has been written over and over again...this novel shows what it's like to find a decent man!!!!

Lauren Blakely did a fantastic job with a title that sounded unrealistic. I loved every minute and had to read it one sitting.

What a cute story! I absolutely loved it. Totally original! Just know that it's not a sexy romance story. The cover had me thinking that it might be sexier. It's just a funny romance. It'd be a great romcom movie.

I bought the boxed set Tangled Up In Love which included: Caught Up In Us Pretending He's Mine Trophy Husband Playing With Her Heart These can all be read as stand alone books but I recommend reading them in the above order. They are all wrapped up in each other, both character and timewise. In the boxed set, there are 648 pages (NOOK). All four books are about finding love and what it means to each different set of couples. There are also steamy love scenes in all the books, which is always good, right? Lauren Blakely's writing style is smooth and very believable. You can picture all the characters as if they were your neighbors or best friends. I highly recommend this series.

This was was surprisingly good. I had nevet read a book from this author and the trophy husband contest sounded too unrealistic. But I was wrong, and the book turned out to be very entertaining, with very well developed and relatable characters. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I did not particularly liked how the author filled some chapters with description of sex scenes that the heroine imagined. Not only were they not needed, they were distracting. I ended up skimming through them. But the rest was great. I particularly liked the hero, yummy!

I loved Caught Up In Us - the whole former lovers thing - and now I love Trophy Husband. It's funny and charming and McKenna is as lovable as Kat in Caught. McKenna is hip and fun and fashionable and quirky and launches this crazy Trophy Husband  plan. Who hasn't wanted to get back at an ex? Chris is as hot and fun as Bryan in Caught and a good guy too. I"m so over the 'bad boy' thing, let's cheer for the good guys out there! I'm really getting to  like Blakely's stuff.

A terrific read. Mckenna is dumped via voicemail the day before their wedding so her fiance can marry a much younger woman. After a dismal year Mckenna decides to use her blog to make the point that women can seek "trophy husbands" just as men find trophy wives. What happens on her quest is entertaining and enlightening for Mckenna and her viewers. Will she find a perfect trophy husband? I highly recommend this book.

A Review of Trophy Husband by Lauren Blakely McKenna and Chris - 5+++++ stars I actually had the opportunity to read PWHH before I read this one and just that little bit of seeing these wonderful characters was enough to make me want to go back and read this one before moving on to anything else. I abso-FREAKING-lutely LOVE the characters that Lauren develops. Each one of them has their own special something about them, so you don't feel like they are interchangeable at all like some of the series out there. This is also the first book where we get to meet Julia, who plays a HUGE role in another series. I have bought almost every book Ms. Blakely puts out and I am enjoying reading them from the very beginning. I'm one of those people that like to have all the books in a series before I start reading them, just because I can be impatient. The relationship between McKenna, Erin, Hayden, Julia and even eight year old Lena, is one that many women don't get the chance to participate in and for those women I'd like to think that they can find themselves part of this pact. This book just goes to show you that fate will step in when you least expect it and throw you a curveball. McKenna definitely needed to learn to let go of the past and move on instead of letting anger and resentment keep her tied to her jerk of an ex for over a year. Definitely looking forward to the next book I get to read by this AMAZING author! Worth every penny of the purchase and time to read. **Honest review voluntarily provided for purchased product in the Epic Love bundle.**

I highly recommend this book for anyone who has been jilted, ever fallen in love, hopes to fall in love, or wants an enjoyable way to spend a few hours. Enough drama to get my attention without drowning the overall light, happy tone of the book. Break out your poodle skirt, grab your coffee, and head for the beach, bistro, or anywhere you have some time to enjoy these quirky characters. McKenna, You go girl!
