Overview

College life for Layla Weston isn’t starting the way she’d intended. She’s revisiting the plans she once had to be the reclusive girl she wanted to be at Heyward Prep, and Layla is more than confident in her ability to succeed this time. After all, she’s got a whole new bag of secrets to keep.

Still reeling from Will’s disappearance, Layla is doing her best to adjust to life back in Florida. She continues to hold out hope, confident she was meant to find Will’s ring for a reason.

Just as Layla is starting to accept that she must keep moving forward, secrets from the past threaten Layla and her family. As Luke and Claire join with Layla to protect their family, Layla discovers that her uncle may not be the man she thought he was – and that there’s more to Will’s disappearance than she ever could have imagined.

I said it for The Lake, and I'll say it again for Troubled Waters... Great Story. Great Characters. Great Read. This isn't just your typical young adult book for girls. The relationships that develop between kids and parents, and young boys and girls can't be overlooked. "Will" shows guys how to treat a young lady. Girls: he should be your plumb line when you look for a boyfriend. You thought The Lake left you wanting more, Troubled Waters makes your heart stop.

I was not ready for the ending but that is why I really enjoyed the second part of the trilogy. You never know what is going to happen throughout the book. Excellent character development also. Please continue to write after the trilogy is complete. The style is wonderful and good for all ages.

Again, Ms. Grant has delivered a heart-pounding story that continues where THE LAKE left off. Filled with romance, and strong emotion, this installment even has it's share of action. I was thrilled to see how Layla is moving forward with her life and seeing her develop into the strong young woman that she is. And I applaud Ms. Grant and other authors who are unafraid to show young females engaged at a young age. I also appreciate a love story that does not involve jumping into bed...

This story continues with love, heartbreak, and suspence. Everything I loved in the first book! And of course it ended with me hanging on to the edge of my seat. Looking forward to the next book but really hate to know it's the last in the series.

Really good! What a page turner! Unfortunately, it's got a cliff hanger, but oh well.
