Joe Brooks has written several instructional books on fly fishing, and this one is spectacular. It thoroughly explains casting techniques and how to deliver the fly to the intended location in a natural appearing manner. This aspect alone is sufficient to make the book worthwhile. However, Joe goes on to explain the special techniques necessary to successfully fish the three main categories of flies, dry flies, bucktails and streamers, and nymphs. As a further education the book includes many full color photographs of fly patterns helping the new fly fisherman to recognize them in his or her local store. Using no more than this book it is possible to learn the art of fly fishing, providing a lifetime of joy and contentment to the fly fishing angler.
