About the Author

Akasha Torres grew up on the island of Oahu, in the Kingdom of Hawaii. They have been writing and traveling a spiritual path since childhood.

Akasha's friends call them Aka.

After graduating from Waipahu High School in 1999, Torres served in the active duty Air Force and was discharged honorably. In 2006 they moved to Las Vegas, NV and worked in the construction industry before earning an associates degree in Creative Writing from College of Southern Nevada.

They published a memoir in 2007 and a novel in 2012. Both titles are currently out of print.

Aka also explored filmmaking and acting. In 2013 Torres wrote, produced, and starred in the short film The Tell-Tale Heart, a modern adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's classic short story. That same year, Torres produced a teaser trailer for her debut novel, with the intention of producing a feature film. In 2013 Aka co-wrote and co-produced two stage plays.

In 2014, Torres played a featured background role in Tim Story's Think Like a Man Too.

Aka met their Twin Flame while filming in Hollywood and moved to Los Angeles only two months later.

In 2016 they enrolled in LA Film School and met Professor Houston Howard, the leading Hollywood expert on transmedia (he literally wrote the book). After learning about transmedia design, Aka gave up filmmaking to write the Multiverse; a transmedia megastory.

Akasha Torres is now the owner of Mercury Direct, a Portland-based indie imprint. They look forward to bringing together a team of indie artists to produce graphic novels, video games, and volumes of thrilling fiction and screenplays.

Aka was conditioned into Christianity during childhood, and became a Christian minister in 2008. They taught Sunday School lessons and occasionally gave sermons under Reverend Wilford Moore at Abundant Peace Christian Church. Torres says that "Christianity excludes entire groups of people from the Round Table. That's not justice. I had to keep searching."

Torres explored Hinduism, Buddhism, and Paganism. In 2016, they answered the call to Shamanism. Aka Torres is studying at an accredited mystery school; Lightsong School of Shamanic Studies.

Aka says, "Spirit tells me what to write. Through Shamanism, I may ask a historical figure, 'do you have a message for humanity?' and most of the time, they have something to say."

Aka is working on another degree in Creative Writing.

Akasha Torres is passionate about healing and expanding the collective consciousness through story.
