The night we met in the dimly lit bar, she looked like a brunette bombshell, and I wanted to learn her deepest secrets. With sun-kissed skin and soulful bedroom eyes, she was pure temptation, and I was mesmerized.

As one drink led to two, I craved more of her playful banter and taunting lips. Resisting her wasn't an option, and we quickly became a desperate mess of tangled limbs and hot kisses. She tasted like the sweetest sin, but I was no saint.

Once we caught our breaths, and it became obvious that meeting her wasn't a coincidence, everything changed. Now I must deny her at all costs.

Friends. It's all we can ever be.

After years of lying to myself and keeping her at a distance, I want to pull her close. Sophie's on my mind more than ever as my instincts to protect her take over. Regardless of my attempts to help, she pushes me away and makes it clear she doesn't need me.

I'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe, to show her I'm the good guy, but one night takes a tragic turn for the worse when her boyfriend and I start throwing punches.

And ends when I'm arrested for his murder.

Kennedy Fox has once again clamped my heart in a vise with Truly Mine. Only start reading this book when you have enough time allotted to do anything else until you've finished, and even then, you'll need some recovery time. I absolutely LOVED this book (even though I have a countdown on my phone until the next one is released), it's a true KF book! With the Roommate Duet series, as soon as a new book hits my Kindle, I drop whatever my plans were and dive right in.

Jaw on floor!!!! Wow, this book had a little bit of everything from tension to being overwhelmed with emotions. Oh and that ending was d##@, how fast can these two write to get book two done. Mason and Sophie in the first duet book (Hunter and Lennon's story) showed all the signs of a love hate relationship because of the tension. In this book we find out why the tension is there and how they overcome it. It is not an easy feat for them to do either. The obstacles are in front of them every step of the way. These obstacles are out of the pictures when Mason is arrested for Murder. Will the charges stick or will he be free? Oh and will Sophie be able to overcome all her feelings and problems or will they destroy the girl she was? Kennedy Fox has a way with words that keep you hooked from the very first page. This book was no different and in some cases even drew me in deeper than all the others. I really can't wait for book two and all other books these two write.

4.5 stars! Kennedy Fox have once again wrecked me with an epic and surprising cliffhanger. They've turned me into a desperate mess because I need book 2 of Mason and Sophie's story like now. Oh my goodness! I loved this book. Truly Mine was a swoony, emotional, angst-filled friends to lovers that hooked me from the very start. I'm addicted to the slow burn in this book. I could physically feel the tension all the way to my bones. Gah! I knew this story was going to be good! And I was not disappointed. These characters were everything. I am so in love with Mason and Sophie's relationship; even though it was at times frustrating af. But their connection was perfect. I think it's safe to say I have a giant crush on Mason. I go gaga for a protective hero. There is so much more to him than I previous thought. He came with a world of guilt that's impeded his happiness, his future and his self worth. Sophie was also amazing. There were moments when I felt like one of her sister hoping she'd get out of her situation. Still, I loved her strength and her heart. I wanted her to have it all. I love the pace and the way the duo wrote this story. I loved that it starts off with a holy cow moment and then brings the story back to build it up again. Moving from present time to the past and leading back to present events had me furiously swiping pages trying to find out what happens next. I've wanted this book since the end of Baby Yours. Kennedy Fox delivered in a big big way. I can't wait to continue Mason and Sophie's story. September can't get here soon enough.

Wow, this book! I experienced a wide range of emotions while reading this, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the conclusion of this duet. I’m giving it 4.5 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion. I just wanted to mention first off that there were some triggers in this book. If you read the first duet, you got a glimpse of them. Without spoiling what happened, I’ll just say the major ones were abuse (in multiple forms), and death. I cried several times while reading this, because the writing was so good…and also because the emotions, and events, playing out obliterated my heart. I figured Sophie would be the most like me from the trio of sisters, so I was excited to read her duet. I wasn’t sure how I felt about Mason though. He’d been my least favorite boy from the group of friends, but I believe that was due to not getting to know him enough. I adored both of these main characters, and need to see what happens after that intense ending left me on the edge of my seat. I was expecting it based on previous books by this duo, and the vibe I got while reading, but I still have to know how this couple’s story continues ASAP. There wasn’t a lot of sexy times, but the unfolding of the relationship was done quite well for these characters, so I definitely won’t be complaining. I recommend this if you like any of these romance tropes: friends-to-lovers, second chance, slow burn, roommate, or even ones that focus on a tight knit group of people/family. I seriously wish I had the next book already to keep reading.

Mason frustrated me while captivating me with his amazing heart. He is great at torturing himself and Sophie. Mason and Sophie shared an incredible encounter in a bathroom but when he realizes she is Lennon’s sister; he puts her in the friend zone. The problem is why. When I finally learned the heartache, he suffered and the guilt he carries, well, it all made sense. I didn’t have to love it but I totally understood how amazing he is inside. Sophie then works to move on from Mason and finds herself in an abusive relationship which leads to a tragic event at Hunter & Lennon’s wedding reception. Sophie has worked so hard to build her career as a violinist and she always sees the best in everyone. She is shocked when she realizes Weston isn’t the charming man she initially met. She never expected to fear for her life but that one-night changes everything. Now she is living in Mason and Liam’s house. Will Mason still keep her in the friend zone? Sophie has revealed all her skeletons; will Mason finally open up to Sophie? These two put me through the ringer with all the best intentions while avoiding coping from past hurts. The connection they feel is always present when they are together while each one fights it to honor the other’s wishes. I had my moments where I wanted to smack Mason to wake him up and grab this incredible woman in front of him. I loved every heart-pounding, sexy moment of their intense journey. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Worth the wait from the first duet!! So if you've read Hunter and Lennon's story - then you were probably anxiously waiting for Mason and Sophie and oh my - this one did NOT disappoint!! Their first encounter is beyond hot!! Mason will drive you insane since it's obvious these two should be together, but he is scarred from his past which takes a while to find out all that happens, but is heartbreaking when we do. Sophie is beyond awesome and does her best to move on. Unfortunately, that doesn't work out very well at all and that was difficult to get through. However, when these two finally get together - BAM!! Chemistry central. Luckily Book 2 of this duet is coming out next month as you will have to know how this all plays out. This duet is so awesome and I'm really enjoying Kennedy Fox books!! I voluntarily requested and read an uncorrected advance reader copy.

I was so excited to get back to find out what Mason and Sophie's story would be. We were left at the end of Hunter and Lennon's duet with a bit of a shocker that made me need this book right then! Alas, I had to wait until it came out, and I devoured the story, reading every chance I had to so that I could see what would happen. Now, my one complaint is that there was a lot of jumping around in the first half that made it a bit hard to really grab on and get back into our characters that I was so excited to be with. And Mason left me a bit irritated at first with how he was being so off with Sophie and not even giving them a chance, after their hot bathroom encounter at the beginning. But this story started off with a bang and ended with another cliffhanger! Which I knew was coming, it's how the first two books were. Once we got past all the jumping around, we were able to really get into the story with Mason and Sophie and start following them, wondering what it would take to convince Mason he should let go of his past and give Sophie and his connection a chance. This is definitely a roommate series, because they do all end up as roommates again. Only unlike the first duet, there isn't any love coming from the third roommate, Liam, other than friendship. I love the relationship with all these friends. They are really great together, and there for each other. I can't give anything away about the cliffhanger and some of the things that happen right before it all goes down, but just know that if you enjoyed the first duet, you'll like this book too, but the drama is from a completely different type of situation, wrapping around in a way that echoes back to how this one started. Now I'm on pins and needles for book 2!

This is the first part of the Mason and Sophie duet, but if you happened to have read the first two books in the Roommate series then you are already familiar with the chemistry between Mason and Sophie. Like me, you've been wondering what was holding them back from being together. In Truly Mine we finally discover what all of those underlying reasons were. The great thing is, if you are new to the series and are just jumping in, Kennedy Fox does a great job of keeping you up to speed on past characters while moving the storyline along. So either way, you will love this book. So, Kennedy Fox did warn that this duet would cover topics that could be sensitive to readers and would be greatly different than the last duet. Yes, the last duet was emotional, like gut-wrenching emotional. Truly Mine is devastating. The authors pinpoint the wrecked devastation in being in an abusive relationship, along with the emotional toil of losing someone you love. This book is heartbreaking and sad and yet so real. It is emotional on an entirely different level. It does cover very real topics and could be troubling for some readers, but the authors do a great job of writing about it and discussing ways to seek help. Sophie is a violinist for the Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra. As the eldest sister of three she tends to take on the motherly role between them, but she is far from matronly. Her life consists of music, which is practice, her job and tutoring other students. It doesn't leave time for much else, like meeting men. However, one night while waiting for her sister to arrive in a bar she meets a handsome stranger and they decide to on a bar quickie. Once they finish and head back out the bar, it's then that they discover whom the other person is. Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine that the best time of her life would be her sister's boyfriend's bestfriend, Mason. Mason hasn't dated in years and he certainly wasn't a one night stand guy either, but something about the beautiful girl at the bar called to him. Once he found out she was Lennon's sister he knew he was in trouble. They had to backpocket what had happened and just move forward hopefully being friends. Unfortunately that was harder said than done. Pushing her away over and over was only for the best, he was in no way ready to pursue anything with her and she'd only thank him one day. That was until she eventually moved on. Weston was perfect on paper, perfect in person, perfect in everyway that mattered. That was until they moved in together. Sophie saw a different side to the man she believed she was in love with. The man she began to date because Mason wouldn't give her the time of day. Years of her life she'd never get back because he pushed her away. She was with Weston now and things were great, until they weren't. Blinded by her emotions, blinded by her insecurities, scared to leave, Sophie was left with nowhere to go. Perfect Weston knew how to manipulate her and his manipulation led to unchangeable consequences. Truly Mine is a look back on how Sophie and Mason arrived at their fractured relationship. How do two people who have obvious feelings for one another get to the place of no return? How do we let things happen when choices seem to obvious, but small changes and choices lead us down a path one step at a time. Be prepared because the first part of this duet will wreck you and leave you with a whaaaaaaaa moment at the end. I can hardly wait for Truly Yours.

Sweet Sophie. Mason had never forgotten the night he first saw her. She was funny and beautiful and they had an explosive attraction that left him with memories that were burned into his mind forever. But he wasn’t good enough for Sophie because he came with baggage that no one else should have to deal with so they remained friends, which was hard for him to do. He knew he could call her if he needed her, but he did not want her to need him. He was damaged goods and tormented by his past, and sweet Sophie was too decent and pure to put up with his nightmares. Then suddenly, Sophie did need him and he did everything in his power to protect her and keep her safe. She refused to listen to him, and they grew apart, but he still thought of her every day. He missed their connection, until one night, when she needed him the most, they forged a bond that can never be broken. Sophie would always be the one for him and he would do anything for her. Absolutely anything!!

Wow!!!! Mason and Sophie were so worth the wait!! This story was full of passion, drama, angst, and craziness, all the things I love about a book!!! The slow build of this story was amazing for me, I love that it didn't just jump into them loving and happily ever makes you beg for it!!! Kennedy Fox brought it with this one. Patiently waiting for the 2nd part!!!!

Standing in the shadows of love, it was only a matter of time before the heartache. Truly Mine is a trek through the dark side of love. Broken trust, shattered dreams and dangerous temptation dog Mason and Sophie. Fox creates a masquerade that swept me away. A love ballad interrupted. The bridge is set, but the crescendo is waiting to make it's prescence known.
