When I started reading Trust and Cris told me I’d be done with it in 5 days, I didn’t believe her. I thought I would read it as a break when I was working and then slowly read it. BUT I was SO wrong. TRUST is the first part of a Trilogy I CANNOT wait to read. The book is ADDICTIVE. I could not put it down. The story starts with 3 visions. A woman’s tortured nightmares, A man’s annoyance with life and A man’s craze to hurt women in bed. Slowly, their lives interconnect. And How. I fear making this a spoiler review, the story is so good. Sophia is a beautiful and intelligent woman. She has a strong taste for powerful men, powerful cars and huge mansions. Her expensive taste of clothing but yet a simple mind shows her kind heart. Ethan is a man who gets what he wants. And He cannot let anyone or anything get in his way. His jealousy ruins his relationship with Sophia. Alistair Connor with his green eyes and strong hands is in love with Sophia but cannot see her with another man. Each of the three have their own past and secrets. Cris has only revealed that Sophia is a widow whose husband is shot in the riots in Rio De Janerio. She cannot remember anything about the shooting, except that she had to take her 3 year old daughter to safety. Ethan and Alistair have secrets of which the covers have not been raised. That makes the book so intriguing. The passionate love between Alistair and Sophia, Ethan’s marked jealous streak, Sophia’s unpredictability. I could not keep this book down at all. I loved the parts about the dresses that Sophia wears and the accessories she dons. It creates a very tasteful image in one’s mind. I will wait for this book to be turned into a movie because it will make a great one! I wish Cris the best for that. This book has everything AND MORE in it for you. It is one of the best books I have read in recent times!! Cris has a great style of writing. The narrative is smooth and easy to understand. The love scenes are passionate and very well done. The air of mystery around the people is constant during the pages. You can come to know that there is some part being withheld from you. Cris is a self published author whose works sell online. In continuing my appreciation for Self Published authors not letting their works and the art of writing die, I wish Cris all the best for her sales and DEMAND that the other books come out as soon as possible.

Reviewed by Crystal B. Book provided by the author for review Review originally posted at Romancing the Book A New Beginning is the first book in the Trust series by Cristiane Serruya. I wanted to read this book because it sounded like a fascinating story from the blurb I read. However, once I started reading this book it was even more captivating that I had anticipated. I was completely hooked from the very beginning. Cristiane Serruya has created some very interesting characters that I had a great time meeting. I admired Sophia for her strength to be able to get through all the challenges life had thrown at her. She has done everything in her power to make sure her daughter is safe, secure, and knows she is loved. She loves her daughter very much and you can certainly tell by how they interact together. Her daughter is a sweet, very smart young girl and certainly adds a lovely touch to this story. She is a charming little girl and has a lot of input in the story line. When Sophia meet Ethan I thought she had meet her prince. He treated her well and spoiled her with lots of presents but as the story unfolds I found myself not liking Ethan very much at all. I won’t give to much away here, he has some issues and I can understand from his past the reason he is the way he is. So some parts of me felt sorry for him but other parts just wanted to slap him and tell him to shape up. Alistair enters Sophia life at a time when she could use the help. Gabriela has a special bond with Alistair right away. I found this aspect of Alistair to be so kind and loving. I adored his interaction with this sweet young child. I liked Alistair even though he too has a few issues from his past that make him a intriguing but almost dark character. He has redeeming qualities that I did truly did like. There were a couple of times that I would have liked to tell him to shape up as well. I found myself living the emotional journey right along with Sophia in this story. There is plenty of emotion, drama, and suspense. There are a few more things that I would like to know about the past of all three of these characters and I have a feeling more will be revealed in Betrayed the second book in this series. I will certainly be looking forward to reading Betrayed to learn more about Sophia, Alistair, and Ethan’s story. I have a feeling these three are still going to be involved in each other’s lives. There are a few really steamy erotic scenes in this story. If you don’t enjoy a good steamy scene you may not enjoy this book as much, however I really do think you would enjoy the story as a whole. If you do enjoy good steamy scenes then oh my are I think you are in for a treat. I hope you enjoy this story as much as I did.

By: Cristiane Serruga Published By Create Space Age Recommended: Adult Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: 5 Series: Trust #1 Review: "Trust: A New Beginning" by Cristiane Serruga was the first in this series: 'A New Beginning' by this author. This was a read that was simply hard to put down after starting it because it may be a long read and start out a little slow but this novel does pick up and does it! Ms. Serruga style of descriptive writing was definitely somewhat different in her deliverance of this well written amazing read of a 'heart wrenching story of three people.' We find from the read their are three well defined characters: Sophia who was a rich, beautiful, intelligent and young widow. Ethan and Alistair were two 'rich playboys that wanted Sophia. All of these characters had 'Trust' issues and were not perfect but still good in their own way. Each of their stories are very intriguing that you will only have to read "Trust" to see what I mean. The reader will be caught up into emotions that this author was able to deliver were simply beautiful being able to feel for each character thoughts. You will be able to definitely get that they said and were thinking. Be prepared for a few erotic sexual scenes that were steamy, sensual and sexual in detailed but still a good enjoyable contemporary romantic adult read. Now, with that being said I will suggest to you to pick up "Trust: A New Beginning" to see for yourself how this author does a amazing good job with it all. You will be able to see how this author writes some incredibly emotional charged and breathless scenes that are simply off the chart ... good. Be ready for it all: I truly can't say it any better "completely engaging characters, sizzling romance, achingly intense sex scenes, plenty of drama, touching stories of heart-breaking tragedy and loss, and a the chance for healing and redemption." With all of this know that this is just the first of this series so, be ready because there will be more on this journey for Sophia in "Trust: Betrayed #2."

This is a great read. Fast passed and sexy. This book had it all and it was a super-hot & wild ride :) I really enjoyed reading this book and am totally in love with the characters. I like the seriousness behind the story and that it is not just sex all of the time. Absolutely wonderfully written book. I not only loved the story but also the authors writing style. I am still reeling from this book ripping through my emotions and leaving me desperate for more of this story. Trust is a seriously amazing story. Cristiane Serruya managed to tell an intense story without rushing it and without dragging it out too long. Unfortunately, this is the FIRST book in a series and I knew that going into this story, but I wasn't prepared for the book to end and wasn't ready to let go of Sophia, Ethan and Alistair. Congratulations Cristiane Serruya, you wrote a book that I cannot stop thinking about and wishing Trust #2 would get here soon! I will be pouting in the corner and trying to find something else to read that can fill the hole that Sophia left behind. Sigh.

Trust: A New Beginning is a complex story that centers around Sophia, a widower and single mother, who moves to the UK to start over after her husbands death. She meets Ethan in the airport and there is an instant attraction between them. They embark on an affair together and right away you feel how comfortable they are with one another. They are playful with each other, but primal when they come together. When Alistair enters the picture he dominants Sophia. He wants her, so he takes her. There is no give and take. There is savage passion. Sophia cannot take her eyes off of Alistair. He is all that she sees when they are in a room together. Ethan of course is jealous, and Sophia deals with it very well. This story in a way is about Sophia rediscovering herself. Getting married a seventeen and having a child, did not leave Sophia time for herself. Now she is older and in many ways more confident. Trust is a big theme in this story. Each character has their own secrets and shadows that haunt them, but they have to learn to trust one another if they every truly want to move on and let someone get close to them again. Trust is the beginning of a decadent journey of sexual awakening, self discovery, and power of love. Love can be both healing and destructive. It is up to them which aspect they will embrace. Christane Serruya has written a story rich with history, languages, literature, sexual heat, and the extremes of love. The music, the passion, and the beauty of the world that these characters are in surround the reader and make them feel like they are waltzing in Venice, driving through the streets of London, and hiking through the Highlands of Scotland. Once the reader embarks on this journey they will not want to escape! I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Trust is a complex story that is wonderfully developed with enough mystery and suspense to keep the reader guessing the whole way through. The character development in Trust was fabulous. The characters have their own issues, are not perfect, but are wonderful each in their own way. They were easy to relate to, especially Sophia, and by the end of the story I felt that I knew them personally. Their stories were interesting to say the least, and once they crossed paths their lives were woven together in an exciting, breathtaking way. Sophia is a young, beautiful, rich widow. She is also very intelligent, which is a characteristic you do not often see in female leads. Ethan and Alistair are equally rich playboys. Either of them could have any woman they wanted – and they both want Sophia. The author's writing is beautifully descriptive, sometimes overly so; it is nice while reading a story for some of the little things to be left up to the imagination. The brand name dropping was a bit much as well. However, the emotion the author was able to put into the story through her words was incredible, full of ups and downs. I really love book that makes me feel for the characters. And after that ending, I will definitely be looking for book two in the Trust series.

This was an emotional read, with compelling characters, an interesting mystery and a beautifully descriptive writing style.  As a debut offering, Ms. Serruya has produced a fairly competent work, well plotted, paced and fleshed out.  While I found some of the description overly focused on the materialistic often to the detriment of the luxe feel that I believe the author was looking to achieve: I did understand the styling and was able to visualize the story as I read.  Characters were well defined, if not perfect: their backstories and turbulent pasts all manage to find logical and rational explanations although there were some curiously neglected traits left unexamined: Sophia’s facility with languages was unexplored, yet mentioned as a badge of honor. Additionally there was some confusion with her behavior and reactions, where she did not react to obviously abusive behaviors from the two men in her life with a similar approach.  The relationship dynamic was similar with both Alistair and Ethan, yet their aggression triggered wholly different reactions from her.  That inconsistency still niggles at me.  While this book is characterized as contemporary erotic- the sexual scenes, while highly erotic in nature are not as frequent as I have come to see, but they are steamily sensual and sexual with well detailed scenes, believable and solid in their crafting.    Even with the few issues, this was a highly enjoyable and readable story – one suited for people who like contemporary romance with more emotion and luxurious settings, with a feel of Jacque Collins and less a sense of 50 Shades.   I received an eBook copy for purpose of honest review for Full Moon Bites tours. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Trust was a great read for me. It sucked me into the lives of these characters, always wanting to know more of their history and now their future. I felt joy, sadness, and hate at all the right places because the characters are flawed enough for them to be real. There were a couple of places where it was hard to follow their train of thought because there were times when both characters were thinking at the same time and I had to try to figure out which one it was that was thinking. That was still no big deal because it only happened about three times. It took me a little while to be able to start reading it, but once I started I couldn't stop.

Many people believe having money, power, and good looks means having happiness, as well. The three main characters of Brazilian author Cristiane Serruya’s contemporary erotic romance novel, TRUST: A NEW BEGINNING, would probably disagree. Each of these characters have the looks, the money and the power, but aren’t happy. Each has dark secrets that torment them and as the trio come together more complicated problems ensue. Sophia is a young widow filled with confidence and a strong will until it comes to her secret. She struggles to get over the death of her beloved husband and regain a portion of her life she has no memory of. Nightmares haunt her dreams and she’s afraid to go forward with her love life. Ethan, a steel tycoon, and Alistair, a banker, both become enamored with Sophia. The men, trying to battle their own demons, want Sophia’s attention and devotion. They will use all means necessary to achieve their goal. Serruya has written a complex triangle of love, broken trust, and heartache with a whisper of hope and redemption. She has crafted well-developed characters that have inner demons we see slowly emerge and retreat. The author’s eye for detail comes through in the richly described surroundings of the characters, as well as the various countries they visit. The story flows smoothly and quickly with twists along the way to keep you on the edge of your seat. TRUST: A NEW BEGINNING is a labyrinth of emotions, secrets, and personal revelations. It contains steamy sex scenes mingled with suspense for a roller coaster ride of fun reading. While the story draws to an end, it is far from over as the trio’s story continues in the next installment, TRUST: BETRAYED, recently released. FTC Full Disclosure - An eBook copy of this book was sent to me by the author as part of her virtual book tour in hopes I would review it. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review.

Reviewed by Maria Beltran for Readers' Favorite "Trust: A New Beginning" is the story of three interesting characters who crossed each other's paths. Beautiful and intelligent Sophia is a 25 year old lawyer and widow who escapes from Brazil, her native land, after figuring in a tragic incident. Ethan is a rich tycoon who is haunted by his past and Alistair is a playboy banker who seems to regard women as sex toys. The story starts when Sophia is stranded at Heathrow Airport and Ethan offers her a ride to Geneva on a private jet. Obviously attracted to each other, their lives will never be the same again. However, when Sophia has a business meeting at the City of London Bank Headquarters, she will meet Alistair and the story will take a new and interesting twist. Cristiane Serruya has weaved together a story that is filled with romance and passion. The only problem is that there are three people involved in this romantic novel. "Trust: A New Beginning" is supposed to be the first in a trilogy and it surely arouses my interest. The protagonists in this narrative are three strong willed, intelligent and passionate characters. It is indeed not surprising that sparks are flying when their paths cross. The reader can easily be drawn to the interesting lifestyles of these people who belong to the list of the rich and famous. This is because the plot is developed smoothly and the scenes are described vividly. Another element that exists here is the mysterious pasts of Sophia, Ethan and Alistair. It gives me a thrill that there might be something ominous lurking behind these characters. This book is surely on my list of interesting books that I have read this year. Certainly an enjoyable read for people who like an intriguing romantic novel.

Reviewed by Kathryn Bennett for Readers' Favorite "Trust: A New Beginning" by Cristiane Serruya introduces us to three people who seem to have it all. They are beautiful, young and rich, but then, what is missing? Well, money cannot buy love and that seems to be what is missing for these three. Sophia is a beautiful Brazilian widow who must flee from her own country after a tragic incident. She takes to hiding from everyone and remains alone though she is very beautiful and eligible. She is trapped between her love of a dead man and the torment of being without some of her memory with a deep-rooted fear of moving on. Ethan is an important Steel tycoon who suffered from a terrible event when he was young. He has long been on the search for a woman who he could love and who would also love him. He has never found that woman, that is until the day he meets Sophia. Then there is the womanizing Alistair, a powerful banker who prefers to have one night stands to any kind of meaningful relationship. He is rakish and prefers to physically punish the women he is with rather than deal with his own problems. So when they all meet in Europe, who will come away with love and who will walk away without it? I enjoyed this contemporary romance that Cristiane Serruya created. It has a good, solid and rather unique plot line. The writing is good and well thought-out. Though it does follow a bit of the “typical” romance story line it is much more than that. My favorite character of the book was Ethan; there is just something about him that drew me in. I liked Sophia as well and Alistair, but Ethan by far stole most of my attention while reading. Romance lovers will love this love triangle and truly enjoy the book.

Reviewed by Anne Boling for Readers' Favorite “Trust: A New Beginning” by Cristiane Serruya caught my attention from the very first page. The heroine in this tale is Sophia, a young woman of twenty five. She was married to an older gentleman when she was a mere seventeen. Now she is a widow of twenty five. Her tale doesn’t end there; she experiences nightmares and struggles to remember the tragedy that led to her husband’s death. Sophia’s plane is grounded due to bad weather. Two men heard her declare she must get to Geneva; Ethan recognized an opportunity too good to pass up. Sophia was beautiful with her long dark hair; she was dressed impeccably and carried herself with an air of self-confidence. Ethan approached her offering a seat on his private jet. Despite her mistrust of handsome Ethan she accepted. She felt much more comfortable with his friend and lawyer Leonard. As most readers have guessed by now Ethan and Sophia soon began a tumultuous relationship. While they were together she met Alistair, a friend of Ethan. At first Alistair and Sophia formed a friendship but the relationship grew stronger and the connection between them was too intense to ignore. Which man will Sophia choose? What is the darkness that lies deep within Ethan? Will Sophia regain her memory? How did her arm become scarred and how did her husband die? Cristiane Serruya is a master of characterization. I have already described Sophia, so I will move on to the two male leads who are just as well-created. The depth of these characters is incredible. The intensity of the relationships will have the reader eagerly turning the pages. This is a must read for fans of romance. Slip it into your bag on the way to be beach!

Cristiane pens "Trust: A New Beginning" in a well written, face paced, and well thought out plot that just captivated me from the start. A contemporary romance with lots of hot sex and complex main characters with a lot of secondary characters that are believable, it will keep you turning the pages and wishing you had the second book in the series right away. This review is based on a complimentary copy from the author which was provided for an honest review.

Find this review and more at Lusty Penguin Reviews! Lust, jealousy, and secrets combine explosively in Trust: a New Beginning by Cristiane Serruya. The author brings to life three complex characters and an intricate plot that pulls you into this story. Sophia Santo, a beautiful young widow, finds herself as the center of attention of two very handsome and powerful men, Ethan Ashford and Alistair MacCraig. Ethan is a powerful businessman and believes that he has found the one when he sets eyes on Sophia. Ethan and Sophia’s relationship begins innocently enough, but as their relationship progresses, Ethan’s controlling and possessive nature comes to light. Their chemistry between the sheets is incredibly steamy. Believing that Sophia is lying and cheating, Ethan’s strikes Sophia in a jealous rage. Ethan’s behavior is appalling. Sophia, to her credit, finally sees that she is in an abusive relationship and breaks up with Ethan. After the relationship with Ethan ends, Alistair sees his chance with Sophia. Remembering her mistakes with Ethan, Sophia takes a slowed-down approach with Alistair. Sophia wants a real relationship with a man who will love her and her daughter. The author builds the sexual tension between Alistair and Sophia so that when they finally give in to their passions, it is sizzling hot. Unfortunately for Sophia, Alistair has many of the same traits as Ethan: controlling, possessive, and extremely jealous. He too, physically strikes Sophia in a jealous rage, but this time Sophia is confused because she is in love with him. I was hopeful for Sophia’s character after she left Ethan, but I worry for her because she doesn’t leave Alistair. By the end, Trust: A New Beginning, left me emotionally drained, wondering how these characters can be redeemed and how their secrets will be exposed in the next installment of the Trust series. I received a free eBook copy of the book for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility.

When Ethan Ashford sees Sophia Santos at the airport, flustered, radiant, and temperamental he sees a way to get a chance at getting to know her better.  Sophia though is far from the normal type of woman he spends time with, for every morsel of information he gets from her he finds himself wanting more. Sophia Santo has her share of secrets and one of them is not letting another man get close enough to uncover them.  As a widower she has felt loss, but she also has nightmares and can’t remember portions of her life.  Ethan ignites something in Sophia that she wants to explore,  but is he the man she believes him to be or will his overprotectiveness destroy it all. Alistair Connor MacCraig is a notable banker who is always searching for a way to release his anger, often with one night stands.  That is until he meets Sophia, every ounce of the siren calls to him in a way that is unique to him.  Alistair wants to claim Sophia in all ways possible, but demons from his past haunt him in all ways possible, even when it comes to Sophia. Fascinating story, it is very complex as it unfolds over time but well worth reading.  Without giving too much away you can expect the unexpected.  Two men vying for the attention of Sophia, but the easiest path is not always the wisest one. I thought Sophia was a an awe inspiring heroine, she is tough and intelligent quickly becoming a favorite in books.

It was an amazing book! I truely loved it. It keeped me wanting more the whole time I could barely put it down! It was brilliantly written and  I would recommend it for anybody interesting in a new book. It truely has captured what life is like. The men are greedy and want control and power and Sophia is defiant as any woman should be. Its all about learning who you can trust and who you cant. Like when she trusts Ethan who turns out to be a creeper (cannot wait to find out what happens next!!!) and how she learns to trust Alistair and he starts to abuse her. Splendid book.

A great story with hot and wildy erotic scenes The Characters: Sophia is a 25 year old Brazilian widow and lawyer. Sophia is very intelligent - kind of genius - extremely fashionable, elegant and almost perfect. Or so it seems. She has inherit an oil company when her husband is killed that has its main branch in UK. So she fled to London and build a new life for her.  She has an adorable daughter, Gabriela. The child is simply lovely. Ethan is 35 year old English-Greek billionaire, handsome and single. He falls in love with Sophia. At first sight! Alistair Connor is a widower, 35 year old, more than handsome, also billionaire. (Alistair Connor, hmmm!) He desires Sophia but he resists the pull she exerts on him. Sophia meets Ethan in Heathrow when he offered her a ride in his private airplane and she meets Alistair Connor when she goes to a business meeting.  The love triangle is formed. The three characters have dark secrets. A few are unveiled during the story. And some remain for the next book, I’m sure. There are lots of secondary characters, very well described and interesting. Makes me wonder if the author will create a series. This first book is set in an elegant Europe from October 2009 on. There are hot, wild sex scenes and they are well placed. There is no gratuity or kinky sex.  MY OPINION ABOUT THE BOOK: This book has a very good plot and espetacular character development. The story moves along. And you’ll find yourself desiring to be one of the characters. And then not, because the three have suffered a lot. There is a lot of talk and description, very well mixed. In the end, even if you don’t buy the second book you will feel satisfied. But if you read the sneak peek of the next book, you'll be cliff-hanging and screaming: I WANT MORE!

I received Cristiane Serruya's novel as part of the Early Reviewers program in Librarything and what a delightful gift it was! Sophia Santos hasn't had an easy life and maybe that's why she is such a strong and independent woman. Only in her mid twenties, she has a successful career as a lawyer. After the tragic death of her late husband, Gabriel, she inherited his huge oil company and she manages to rule it with a still hand and a ruthless precision, winning respect from those who underestimate her when they take in only her appearance instead of her guarded intelligence. Nevertheless, Sophia has a dark past, some dark incident lurking behind her consciousness which doesn't let her be at peace. Her daughter Gabriela and her family, especially her brother Felipe, are her most precious treasures and her only solace. But one day in October 2009 a couple of men will cross her path: Ethan, rich and possessive, and Alistair, a man with a wound so deep that he has lost his ability to love. Which of them will earn her trust and eventually her love? The game is ready to begin, brace yourself for numerous encounters which will increase your heart beatings in matter of seconds. And the more you'll read, the more you won't be able to stop. This is a thrilling book, written in elegant style and perfect to get lost one evening with a glass of red wine by your side. The numerous references to classic literature and classical music help to give the book an even a more distinguished touch, if that's possible, resulting into an actual and modern story but with solid background which gives credit to the author. Not only are the characters engaging, each in its own way, but also cleverly developed to build an exciting plot and a climaxing ending: Sophia is not perfect, but she is strong willed, intelligent and compassionate; Ethan is the apparent Prince Charming but with possessive and jealous outbursts which threaten Sophia's independence, and Alistair, oh my, Alistair is fantastic, the perfect anti-hero. Dark, brooding, moody and wounded, he is as dangerous as he is good-hearted, natural and sincere. And afraid to love again. But what has really made the difference for me with this story is the way that Cristiane manages what other authors don't when they describe their characters. She has a masterful way of giving an insight to each one of them without forcing it, transforming a fictional character into a very plausible human being who will become dear to you, who will be with you during all day until you manage to snag some time to keep on reading. And that only happens when a novel has the right amount of magic to transform a simple book into a gateway to your most secret yearnings. Can't wait for the second instalment, I can't recommend this book enough, take the plunge, you won't regret it!

Trust: A New Beginning (Volume 1), Author: Cristiane Serruya I am not a fan of “romance” novels. But I am now a fan of Cristiane Serruya for writing an adult romance for grown ups. The book took me places I will never go, introduced me to people I will never know and down-right brought down the house with the final show. While others will tell you about the people and scenes, I will say that by the time I finished the book, I was restless to read the second in the trilogy. The characters are flawed, beautiful and abundantly wealthy, but they became people that I feel I know. I understand their short-comings, their achievements, their pride and I am left fearing for their futures. The energy level is high, the pacing perfect and the cliff hanger demands opening the next volume. Thank you so much Cristiane. You made my heart beat faster with every page I turned!

Trust: A New Beginning, is a captivating novel that will leave you in a state of withdrawal. Thankfully, I know that a second installment to this trilogy is just around the corner. The story consists of a young widowed Brazilian woman who the author, Cristiane Serruya, does a good job at bringing to life in the reader’s mind. The protagonist, Sophia, is conflicted, suffering from nightmares stemming from a traumatic event that robbed her of her husband. Since then, she’s tried to start over, looking for a new beginning. But the men she encounters are haunted by their past. Trust is more than a romance novel, and the story is just beginning to pick up momentum and before you realize what time it is you’ve finished the book. As a story writer myself, I enjoy discovering bits and pieces of the story that are likely representative of the authors life experiences. For example, Cristiane Serruya is a Lawyer who specializes in cases of sexual abuse and violence against children and women—represented by characters and situations in the story—which is what makes different authors’ stories unique. Serruya’s writing style is smooth and readable, “Before he knew what he was doing, he strode up to them with the liquid grace of a panther." I’m routing for Ethan. I think there’s much more to this guy than has been revealed to us thus far.
