This book left you wanting more. Must buy next one or two books to complete this story. I loved what I read so far just don't like cliffhangers. Mjw

I have to admit I was iffy for a while. After pushing through I find myself wanting to see what happens. Darn novella’s this is definitely a pre book one. Regardless the story sounds interesting. 4 stars for tying my hands! Kudos!

"Both Men and money have a way of disappearing when you need them most. It's something I learned early, but clearly I needed to learn it again." Harper spends the summers aboard her father's yacht. Being the daughter of divorced parents, and who, by the way, dislike each other, she lives with her mother and takes the holidays to spend time with her father. Despite being the daughter of a wealthy man, Harper can not be considered privileged. Her father pays only for her education, her mother did not receive any money in the divorce, so Harper works to pay the bills and support her and her mother, who makes through various marriages her mission to continue leading the life of luxuries she is accustomed to. During the period when her mother is not in a relationship, their lives are difficult, but she does not ask her father for help because she is afraid that he will separate her from her mother. Harper is an heir with no money. In a summer, Harper knows his father's new wife, who also, by the way, marries as a change of clothes. Knowing that these women never last, she never bothered to meet or approach. But this time it will be different. Her new stepmother has a son, and however much she tries, it will be impossible to ignore Christopher. Time passes, the two become friends, communicate by letter, until at age eighteen, Harper takes a blow from fate that will bring about a drastic change in her life. With the death of her father and being his only heir, she will finally be able to give a decent life to her mother, but a condition of her father will destroy what she most cherishes, her friendship and feelings for Christopher. Her father will appoint him guardian of her inheritance, which she will only have access on the age of twenty-five. And so, Harper and Christopher will never understand each other again.

One amazing heartbreaking book! This story was so enlightening! Why Harper seems to have a deep distrust for her stepbrother Christopher. I was saddened to see how their very special relationship was seemingly destroyed in a matter of minutes. Due to a reading of a will, and her love and need to take care of her mother. Even though she was shallow and only cared about her station in life, not Harper. Christopher is such a loving and tender man, who cares about Harper above all else. Skye Warren draws you into her stories and lets you see through their outer facade and feel their pain. The beginning of Christopher and Harper's relationship was so tragic, I hope that in the next book they realize how much they really love each other, and get past all their past differences in opinion.
