Can he convince her that his playboy days are over and that she can trust him with her heart?

I feel like I waited forever for Roni and Rich to get their own book. (In actuality it was two books about about three hours, but who's counting?!) Separately, they were two of my favorite characters throughout the first two novels in Bethany Lopez's Friends & Lovers series. Together, their chemistry was combustible. I knew it was only a matter of time before they collided and I couldn't wait for it. This was, hands down, my favorite book in the series.  Roni has an unpleasant past. Rich is a playboy who has been chasing her since she got to town, much to the dismay of her brother, Kent. There's no denying she's attracted to him (and maybe more than just attracted), but she's terrified of getting  hurt. Falling for Rich is bound to end in disaster. But, Rich is changing his ways and what he wants is a serious relationship with Roni. He's changed and he wants her to know that.  As with the first two books in this series, Trust in Me was sweet and romantic with realistic characters that I connected with. I always had a pretty good idea how it would end, but it didn't matter one single bit. I was in the mood for something sweet and slightly sexy and a good happily ever after. Bethany Lopez delivered with a quick, easy read that left me all smiles at the end. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I don't always post reviews for books that I beta read, but I really loved this book. I've read all the books in this trilogy, but Rich and Roni were my favorite by far. Their story was really deep and sexy, but also had some light moments too. I loved it.  I've liked Rich from the start of this series. He was funny, flirty, and I honestly didn't take him very seriously. However, in I Choose You, I started to see a change in Rich. He's moved home for good to start up a community rec center. His motivation to start a project like that made me love him even more. Now...Rich maintained his flirty ways, but he's only had an eye for one particular girl for a while.  Unfortunately, Roni is reluctant to return his attention.  Poor Roni. She really broke my heart. Roni's story begins to surface a bit in Kent's story, but in this book, we get a full picture of what exactly she's been through. From her childhood, to her first horrible marriage, this girl has been through the ringer. She deserved to have a good guy like Rich come in to her life. Not only did Rich show her what love should feel like, but his family embraced her as well. I also loved that she got to fulfill her dream of teaching dance. Again, Rich made her dreams come true in more ways than one. They are a great couple.  Overall, I really loved Trust in Me. It was by far the sexiest in the series, which won me over. I mean....Rich is darn hot anyway, but the chemistry that he and Roni have was really great! I also loved seeing the whole group again. I probably shouldn't tease you all, but wait till you see the bonus chapters for each couple. I was squeeing!!! Literally. If you're looking for a short NA series to get started on, definitely check this one out.

I loved this third story in the Friends and Lovers trilogy (can be read as a standalone, though characters have been previously introduced in the series). Roni is recovering from an abusive homelife and marriage and sees Rich for the playboy type that he is. But Rich has a more serious side to him, and now that he has the chance to be with Roni, he's willing to do what it takes to show her that he's worthy of her time and attention. Though their relationship starts out backwards with a one night fling that Roni insists will not become anything serious, the more time they spend together reveals to her that Rich is really the nice guy that he seems to be - caring, friendly and supportive. The love scenes between them are steamy and well written. Secondary characters, friends and family of Rich and Roni play an important role in the story and the development of their relationship. It was a pleasure to see them get their act together and for Roni to get the man that she deserves and her happy ending. 5 stars!

Roni gets married right out of high school so that she doesn't have to live with her abusive father. She didn't know that the abuse would follow her after the move. After 3 years, she calls her twin brother Kent to come and get her, finally admitting the truth to him about the abuse. She stays with Kent until she is able to find her own place. In the mean time she meets Rich. A player whom she wants nothing to do with. Rich is a guy who loves women. Before he does anything them, he's up front with them about to expect from him. Nothing. He doesn't do relationships, and hasn't since Tara. Rich notices Roni over summer break before his last semester at college. She's beautiful and can't not look at her when she's around. She rolls her eyes at Rich's comments towards her telling herself that he's nothing but a player. She could never be with a guy like that. One desperate and lust filled night tunes them into each other and a relationship starts to blossom. But can Roni get over her past or will she let it ruin her future? Is Rich ready to trust a relationship again? This is the final book in the Friends & Lovers trilogy. As I was rooting for Roni and Rich, I also got to catch up on the other couples in the previous 2 books. At the end there was an update on all 3 couples. I am so happy that the author included more on the HEA for each couple. This was a fun and easy trilogy and I really enjoyed it! *I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

It is no secret I am a HUGE Bethany Lopez fan! Here is a review of Nissa and though I haven’t reviewed her other books, I have read and loved them! So, I JUMPED at the chance to review this series.  I stared reading the first book and, duh! I’d already read Make It Last.  I searched the blog and hadn’t done a review. So I skipped to I Choose You.  Yep, I’d read that one too… I searched the blog and had reviewed that one, but won’t link it because it was a really bad review from when I first started reviewing. ANYWAY! Moving on. The characters that Bethany Lopez creates are so real.  I seriously want to move in with them and have a beer and be part of their circle.  I’m pretty sure I can convince her to write me in.  I think I would fit in perfectly with their circle.  She can even write me a perfect boyfriend.  I want him to have Rich’s body, with Colin’s face and Kent’s personality! Simple, right?  My favorite of the series is by far Make it Last. I adored Briana and Colin and their relationship obviously was meant to last. I didn’t love Kent, but I think he and Nicole are good together, so it all works out.  Rich and Roni are two of my favorite characters! They are the characters from Trust in Me. I love the relationship that they have.  It is something that they build because of Roni’s past. All and all, I couldn’t put these books down reading them, and I just loved this series! I am always ready to dive into whatever Bethany Lopez has written next!

Reviewed by Rabia Tanveer for Readers' Favorite Roni had a troubled past and she was doing her best to change that. She escaped an abusive relationship with the edge of her teeth and nearly lost her life in that struggle twice. But with the help of her ever loving and cherishing brother Kent she is able to get away from Hank and finally take a breath of freedom. But the scars of Hank's betrayal and fist are too deep to heal on their own. Roni wants to establish her career as a dancer as she always wanted but this means that she will have to confront the ever seductive and deadly attractive Rich. Will she be able to concentrate on only just dance or will be swept by another charmer? Rich is ready to leave his playboy days behind and start a relationship that is filled with love and commitment that will not end in a few years. And he already has a partner in mind; in fact he had that specific young woman in his mind for quite some years. He wants Roni in his life permanently and he is ready to do anything. But he has no idea but her past and the scars she is carrying with her. Will be able to make her take their relationship seriously? Will he be able to ask her to “Trust in Me?” Bethany Lopez’s “Trust in Me” is definitely a keeper. The novel is indeed a good one; I was delighted to find a novel that was rich with an impressive storyline and a male protagonist who is more than a just hot body and charming. The characters are full of integrity and you can feel the love of the writer for her character in each and every word. The story is sensual and seductive without being disgustingly descriptive. In short, “Trust in Me” by Bethany Lopez is a novel that you will read on a stormy night, sitting in front of a fire and with a smile on your face.

Trust in Me is the third book in the Friends and Lovers trilogy and I think it is my most favorite of them all.  Why, because it's Rich and Roni's story.  I just fell in love with Rich in the beginning of the series and have grown to love him more as it progressed.  He is a total hottie and he knows it, he has a killer smile, a killer body, and is a total man-whore.  I don't know what that says about me, but I seem to always fall for the man-whores and bad boys.  Rich isn't your typical man-whore who loves and leaves them feeling angry.  He just loves women and has a way of making each one feel special and loved.....swoon......sigh.  When Rich meets Roni he knows almost immediately that there is something different about her and he wants nothing more than to know her better.  Roni is Kent's sister and has had a really rough life, is recently divorced, and has been left physically and emotionally scarred as a result of her experiences.  Roni also won't give into Rich's charms, and the man is pretty irresistible.  She denies her feelings as long as she can, but eventually has to test the waters and see if Rich tastes as good as he looks.  Rich is crazy about Roni, but when Roni's past comes crashing in around her any hopes of a relationship with Rich seems to dissolve around her.  I loved the romance between Rich and Roni.  It is the steamiest of all the books so far, and rightly so, especially when Rich is involved.  We also get to see all the gang in this book and they all play a big part in the story.  It was really great to see how this group has remained friends, and despite their histories together, all manage to love each other and get along really well.   I enjoyed where Bethany took this series, and I especially enjoyed the bonus endings which seemed to wrap things up for each couple and bring closure that gave them all their HEA.  Overall, The Friends and Lover's series is a great contemporary romance series and if this is a genre you enjoy, then I would certainly check this series out.

From the beginning of the series, I wanted Rich's story. He's always been sweet, funny, and suuuuper sexy. I'm really glad that he finally got his own book, and I'm happy that Roni is his match. Like her brother Kent, Roni was a troubled character. Not troubled in the present sense exactly, but more because of what she'd gone through. She was a girl who'd never had a great shot at the life she wanted, but was working hard to make it happen now. She doesn't want a guy like Rich, who's known as a ladies man, but is actually so much more. Rich did not disappoint in Trust in Me. He was just as sexy and fun as in the two previous stories, but he was also kind and thoughtful. I really enjoyed this couple's journey to the love they both deserve. I also really, really appreciate that author Bethany Lopez wrote bonus scenes for each of the trilogy's couples. These provided a sweet, fun look at their futures and gave a nice resolution to the series.

Reading one of Bethany Lopez's novels from the Friends & Lovers series is like revisiting old friends.  I love this series, as I seem to immerse myself into the small neighborhood in Texas that is the setting and settle down for drinks and good conversation about the goings on with loved ones who just happen to be the characters in this series.  As of this moment, Trust in Me is my favorite book from Bethany Lopez, and I hope to read book # 2  in the series, I Choose You, very soon. Bethany Lopez has written a stellar novel with loveable characters whom you come to know and take in as personal friends.  In Trust in Me, we get the full back story of both Roni and Rich.  Roni's story is heart breaking and gut wrenching.  What she has been through is horrific; the torment she endured at the hands of someone who professed to love and honor her will make you cringe at the thought that one person could be so cruel.  Rich's story is one of heartbreak as well.  Rich's lifestyle is explained with such feeling that I wanted to scoop this playboy up and snuggle with him, letting him know that it's okay to take a risk on love.  Trust in Me is such a beautifully written story of second chances and taking risks to find that well-deserved happiness.  I strongly recommend this book to those who are looking for a romance with angst that will not only tear at your heart; but will bring tears, smiles, and squees at the moments experienced by all of the characters in this small Texas town.  Why 5 stars?  Because I "felt" the entire book, from beginning to end.  I can only hope that Bethany Lopez will continue the series with Jason and Alex's story, as I'm not quite ready to give up my friendship with the friends and lovers.

I will start by saying that I have not read the first two books in this series. I was approached by the author to see if I was interested in reviewing this book, and I honestly didn't even think to ask if I needed to read the first two books before reading this one. That said, you will be happy to know that you do not have to read them in order. It is entirely possible that you learn some information about the characters in the previous books in this one, but I think that it won't be enough to ruin any of them. This is a very quick read seeing as I finished it in about three hours. It jumps right into the action and gives you something to think about throughout. The main female character, Roni, starts off the story by being beaten by her husband. She has called her twin brother to come rescue her and she escapes with minimal injuries. Her soon-to-be ex-husband is not so lucky, but once the main part of the story gets going, you will find that whatever happened to her husband is the last thing on your mind. Instead you will be going back and forth between what is going through Roni's mind/heart and what is going through Rich's. Rich is the main mail character who has been longing to be with Roni for quite some time. Of course he is shocked to learn about her history from his time in college yet he is still willing to be there for her. You will find yourself wanting to keep reading to discover where their relationship will go, how Roni manages to rebuild herself, and have a few exciting moments to enjoy as well. It was very entertaining. Read more reviews at Identity Discovery Blog.

This was a cute book. It dealt with some heavy issues, yet, Bethany portrayed these issues in a manner in which it didn't make the book heavy. She did an excellent job with the storyline. Even though you know what's going to happen in the end, she put a fresh spin on the circumstances throughout the book. I really enjoyed getting to know Roni and Rich. I liked their pasts and how they molded them for the present. Roni was handed a rotten deal in life before and Rich was a playboy. I liked watching them try to overcome their trust issues and differences. I don't want to give away too much of the book so I won't go on. Trust in me, you should pick up a copy of this book :) The book is intended for new adults and not young adults. I give this fun read four glittery stars!!!

Throughout the Friends and Lovers trilogy, I awaited the story of Rich and Roni. I wasn't disappointed! Ms. Lopez does a terrific job of presenting the back stories of each character (especially Roni). She takes us on a wonderful, passionate journey as the characters learn to move past the experiences that brought them to this point and develop as adults. Their love story is sweet and realistically portrayed. Trust in Me is New Adult fiction at its best!

I dont usually post reviews, but personally i thought this book was way too short. Like extremely. There was little room for the story to be better understood. The plot line was great but if on ly they would have stretched it out. Wait For You by Jennifer Armentrout is a great choice, and way better read.
