Overview

All work and no play... would make Jason Montgomery a very happy man.

Ever since his brother had married a woman who worked for their company, Jason has been walking around fending off the unwanted advances of all of the single women in his employ. Now, with a make or break business expansion in the works, Jason needs an assistant he can trust not to mix business with romance.

For three years Maggie Barrett has happily hid in the shadows of Montgomery's. After dealing with her own unwanted advances from her previous employer, staying under the radar was working just fine for her. But now she's thrown into the spotlight as Jason's assistant because he believes her to be a safe choice because she's married.

The only problem? She's not.

Working in close proximity wasn't supposed to be an issue. The lines of their relationship were clearly defined. But when a mutual respect turns into a mutual attraction how will Maggie explain that the only thing holding Jason back was just a little white lie?

About the Author

New York Times and USA Today Bestseller/contemporary romance writer Samantha Chase released her debut novel, Jordan's Return, in November 2011. Although she waited until she was in her 40's to publish for the first time, writing has been a lifelong passion. Her motivation to take that step was her students: teaching creative writing to elementary age students all the way up through high school and encouraging those students to follow their writing dreams gave Samantha the confidence to take that step as well.
When she's not working on a new story, she spends her time reading contemporary romances, playing way too many games of Scrabble or Solitaire on Facebook and spending time with her husband of 25 years and their two sons in North Carolina.

Great follow up to Wait for Me. This book focused on Montgomery brother Jason and his quest for just getting through a big business project without having someone hitting on him. Seems he's had a problem with that since his brother Lucas married his assistant, Emma. There was great dialogue and conflict and definitely heat between Jason and Maggie. This is a traditional contemporary romance and it was nice to read a book that wasn't only about sex but that dealt with an actual relationship outside of the bedroom.

Jack and Maggie's story was so heartfelt! I love a good struggle on the way to a happy ending! Jack montgomery was reluctant to have yet another female assistant throwing herself at him, but resigned himself to the fact that Maggie Barrett was a hard worker and spoken for. After some encouragement from his wonderful Father, they were set to head out on a cross country three week trek of business meetings, conferences and work functions. What neither Jack or Maggie counted on, was the easiness they shared together as well as the pull, the magnetic attraction they had to each other, which made them both hot and bothered and cranky! Trying to maneuver their way to the other was a maze that was fun to be a witness to. I really loved this story. Trust in Me made my belly do flip flops many times!! Well done, Samantha Chase!!

My Thoughts: When I discovered the premise behind this one, I was already sitting at the edge of my seat. It's one of those stories where in your head you're just fighting the urge to freak out over the chemistry between the two main characters because of the whole "pretending to be married" thing. Maggie's background as to why she chose to fake being married makes you empathize majorly. Jason is glad to have Maggie as an assistant since she's already married. That way they can both focus on the job. Unfortunately for them, the attraction is too strong and Jason is fighting an epic battle to be the good guy while Maggie is trying to keep up appearances. When the truth comes out, all bets are off. Trust in Me was so cute and engaging. It tore me up watching the two of them struggle with their feelings for weeks. Lucas and Maggie's chemistry pulls you in and you never want to let go of the idea of them together. You can feel the pain they're both facing, and your heart goes out to them. I thought it was an amazing and realistic portrayal of such a tough dilemma. This is the second book in The Montgomery Brothers series I've read, and it most certainly won't be the last by Samantha Chase! My Rating: Very Good

I really enjoyed this book. I also liked the first book Wait for Me. It was less than 120 pages so a quick afternoon read.

Jason and Maggie make a great business team and even greater romantic team. like any other relationship there are things that don't come out right away, there are always problems in relationships when emotions are involved this one being no different. I'd say it's a book I would recommend.
