Past experiences often make it difficult to trust. I know that is the case for me. After a serious of setbacks in my life, I had all but given up. Then, I read another book that I will mention shortly that helped restore my faith in myself. What Ms. Vanzant's book did was restore my faith in other people. I am learning that you can't trust anyone or anything until you trust yourself. I needed this. The other book that helped me which is a must have for anybody is called When God Stopped Keeping Score. It takes the most amazing look at the power of God and forgiveness. The stories in the book, especially the story of the fathers and the son and the car and the three women and the ham are worth the price of the book alone. Buy it! I wish you the best!

Profoundly enriching, enlightening, empowering. With great mastery and inspiration, his very personal writing, authentic and exquisite, Iyanla gives us wonderful content. All the reading is so deep and meaningful that it touches very intimate fibers of our humanity. With her keen vision of life, her experience in the journey of her own existence and based on all her personal work, this book is worth from beginning to end! The message is deeply transformative that invites empowerment. At the end of the book I was left with a delicious taste of clarity and beauty on the subject. My gratitude to the Publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to review the book
