I hate to not finish a book and rarely do but this is one that I could not finish. It was awful. I like Nicole Richie and thought this would be an amusing read but instead found it to be poorly written and just a terrible read.

The Truth about Diamonds was an extremely entertaining book. Nicole Richie is a very witty writer. This book is loosely based on her life, but the story follows Chloe Parker a friend of Nicole's who gets famous for being the face for a makeup company. Through the story we learn of Chloe's drug addiction and how it was controlling her life. Then she gets out of rehab she deals with the consequences of being famous. Tabloid rumors, money and non-trustworthy people. This book gives you insight on what it's like for celebrities, not the money and the fame part but the price that you have to pay to have those privileges. I recommend this book to anybody who is into the glamorous life of celebrities and is interested in what it's like. I really enjoyed it.

When I first decided to buy the book i was hesitant. I had heard about the book for a couple of years on T.V. and never decided to buy it. Recently i purchased it because i needed some good summer reading....something light...after finishing L.A. Candy by Lauren Conrad (which i was not impressed with) I decided buy this Book By Nicole Richie. I started with no real expectations, but what i got from the book was a good story with well developed characters and a well developed plot. Her writting style was very smooth and easy to read. The book gave an insight into her life. I think that the book showed her real story not just what is covered in the tabloids...even though it is a novel it is based on her life. I would recomend the book to anyone who has maybe followed her career or life....or anyone that just wants a good story.

I'm not one for the simple life or paris or nicole but i do have to say this was a really good book. I read paris's book and found it horrible but this was a very good read and for anyone who doesn't like nicole should really read this to see how hard her life was.
