-RT Book Review on Turner's Woman

With him, she found the courage to break free

Jake Turner could have left the sole survivor of a Crow massacre to die at the hands of her captors. Instead, he bargained for her life. He can't explain what he feels when he looks at her but knows it jeopardizes his secret mission. Now, he's saddled with unwanted baggage, or so he thinks! But Emma Lancing is full of surprises. As bold and quick-witted as she is beautiful, she soon rouses his admiration and ardor as, day-by-day, she turns from a liability to the ideal partner.

At first, Emma wants only to escape a bleak future under her abusive father's boot-heel. She'll risk everything to evade his tyranny and vows to never again be ruled by a man. But journeying with Jake makes her long to join him on his adventures and taste passion in his arms! For a woman determined to keep men out of her life, Emma may just have met her match.

Turner spends 95-98% of the story with one thought - Women are bad! Switch is flipped and all is great. Sigh. I wonder why she loves him. Overall, this is disappointing.

Great Historical Romance Jake Turner bargained for the life of the sole survivor of a Crow massacre instead of leaving her. He knows the feelings that he feels for her when he looks at her, which he can’t explain, jeopardizes his secret mission. Now he thinks he is saddled with unwanted baggage. Emma Lancing is just full of surprises though. She is beautiful as well as quick-witted and bold. Soon she has roused Jake’s admiration and his ardor. As each day she turns from being a liability to the ideal partner. The only thing Emma wants is to escape a bleak future under her abusive father’s boot-heel, at least at first. She is willing to risk everything to evade his tyranny. She also vows to never again be ruled by a man. Though journeying with Jake gives her a different view and soon has her longing to join him on his adventures and to taste passion in his arms. Emma may be a woman who is determined to keep men out of her life, but she just may have met her match. This is a book that starts out fast and just keeps going from there. The early beginnings of the west come to life in this story with each word that the reader reads. The characters come to life for the reader as they get more and more into this book. It also proves to be a hard book to put down as the reader will want to find out just what happens next and how it all comes out for Jake and Emma. This is another great book from an author that proves she knows how to bring both the story and the characters to life.

I really enjoyed reading this story . While I don't read much historical romance stories . This is a fantastic story. This story has action and suspense and a very interesting storyline . I was inraptured from the beginning and read all at one time . Author is new to me but I';ll definitely be reading more of her stories . I highly recommend reading this wonderful story . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I really enjoyed the fact that the author did not try to sugar coat the brutality of the old west. Many historical romances shy away from the harshness of the environment in order to focus the readers attention to the romantic aspects of the book. However, in this book the setting added so much to the budding love story. I loved the relationship between Emma and Jake. It was in many ways just like environment. It was harsh, uneasy, and demanding. However, for those brave souls who were tough enough it was worth it.

Truly great story. As much an spy adventure story as a romance. The mouse that learns to roar meets the misogynist who learns to love a woman. This should be made into a movie. And if it is it should star Anjolina and Brad. Just when I'm ready to give up on historical western romance because they are so trite and predictable I find a book with areal plot and everything. Way to go Jenna!!!!
