Just heard about this book. I'm from a Detroit suburb and am familar with Mr Thomas on channel 2 news. This is truly a fantastic account of dealing with what must be a devasting disease for any African American person. Mr Lee is an inspiration for all, black or white. he has overcome ridicule off an on camera. You must read this book to really understand discrimation. Mr Lee we love you for who you are and NOT what your skin looks like!!!! Keep smiling! Karen from Port Huron

... for shining a light on this disease and helping others out there who believe that they cannot accomplish their dreams. You are proof positive that they can!

I read this book after watching Lees story of Fox 2. I am a young African American woman who really feels for this man. I am always so concerned about my looks, but I never thought of how I would feel if I had his skin disease. I am proud of his courage to go into the public and speak openly and honestly about his life and how drastic it changed after he noticed the "spots". This book made me think twice and to really try hard not to stare and accept others for who they are. He is truly selfless and kind.
