When Lucas Brooks was traded to the Nashville Assassins over a decade ago, he was a brash, brawling hothead without an anchor.

Well, four kids and a smokin' hot wife will weigh you down real fast, but Lucas wouldn't change a minute of his happily ever after.

During an epic, end-of-season quest for the Cup, changes appear on the horizon, and suddenly, there's a plot twist in Lucas's fairy tale.

I love the Nashville Assassins and I loved this short Novella, I loved catching up with some of my favourite characters and It was great to see where life has taken Fallon and Lucas ten years on, It made me realised just why I fell in love with them first time around. This short book is not only a great read it's a great preparation for Fallon and Lucas's oldest son Aiden's story and I can't wait to see just where he fits into the mix will he be a Assassin, a Bellevue Bullie or maybe a new spin off ....... Looking forward to more from Toni Aleo.

LOVE the Brooke's! Great continuation of their story and hopefully Bellevue B's. Maybe a peek into the next generation. With all those kids our couples keep cranking out, TA should have alot of of characters to work from. On and off the Ice! Love this series!!

I absolutely loved it! It was great hearing about many of the other characters from the Assassins' families. It's a very hard decision to make as to where you'll allow life to take you and your loved ones next. You kept the integrity of the "family" in the way Lucas' head and heart work toward what his body already knows to be true and right. Thanks for another great read. Can't wait for In The Crease to be released!

Ugh. This book. This author. Toni does an amazing job of making you fall in love with her characters. This book is a reminder of the love you developed for Fallon, Lucas, and their devotion to each other and their children.

TWENTY-TWO by Toni Aleo is installment 11.5 and the latest novella in the author’s contemporary, adult ASSASSINS hockey, romance series focusing on the men and women of the NHL’s Nashville Assassins. TWENTY-TWO revisits Lucas and Fallon Brooks (Trying to Score #2). TWENTY-TWO can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important from the previous installments is revealed where necessary. Told from dual third person perspectives (Lucas and Fallon) TWENTY-TWO catches up with Nashville Assassins’ hockey player Lucas Brooks as he comes to a cross-roads in his life and his career. With his eldest son, seventeen year old Aiden, making plans for his own hockey career Lucas knows it is time to make plans for his the future. There are a large number of secondary and supporting characters including many if not all of the previous story line couples. We catch up with the team as they vie for the Stanley Cup championships, and witness another player as he struggles with his future-a future that may be out of his hands. TWENTY-TWO is a sweet story line about family, friendship, choices and decisions. Toni Aleo gives the reader a glimpse into the physically demanding life of a hockey player and the stress on the family he/she leaves behind. The premise is realistic and enjoyable; the characters are familiar and heartwarming. TWENTY-TWO is a delightful look at a passionate player whose career is nearing the end.

**4.5 Stars** Lucas and Fallon are back. I loved getting this glimpse back into the life of Assassins player #22 Lucas Brooks. I didn't realize how much I missed him and his family until Toni gave us this story. Seeing the original generation Assassins was so much fun. I've loved getting the side stories and more in depth story of Lucas and I hope we get to see more of this with the others. The story shows the life Lucas and Fallon have created for themselves and their family. You get to see what all of the kids are up to and a glimpse of what Aiden's future holds. I hope we get to see more of Aiden's story as well. Toni did an amazing job with this story and I loved being able to reconnect with one of my favorite Assassins!

I adored Toni Aleo’s TWENTY-TWO. We heard Lucas Brooks’ and Fallon Parker’s story in the second book of the Assassins series, TRYING TO SCORE. I love that Toni Aleo revisited Lucas’ life towards the end of his career in book 11.5, TWENTY-TWO. I also appreciated, the glimpse of his son, Aiden’s life, as well as the other Assassin’s and their families. Like the other books in the Assassin’s series, this story takes place in Nashville. It is suitable for adults. I have always liked Lucas. He is one of my favorite Assassins. I don’t think I am alone in that regard. He is a dynamic character that you cannot help but respect. Lucas faces several issues in this story. He has to make life-altering decisions. I think it is wonderful how Fallon supports him. Those two have come a long way. They truly love each other. They have a terrific family, their own and their extended Assassin’s clan. I enjoyed the insight into the difficult situations Elli must deal with as the team owner. She is a good friend to the team, but she is still their boss. It is a delicate balance. I think the progression into Lucas’s son; Aiden’s life was perfect. I love that he is being recruited by Bellevue. That is the perfect transition to the Bellevue Bullies series. I’m hoping we are going to hear his story. TWENTY-TWO had a perfect ending. Toni Aleo is an amazing writer. She has done a fantastic job keeping this series fresh and relevant. I always look forward to reading her books. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
