About the Author

Gerald Helland grew up in the small farming community of Capac, MI, and now lives in the small town of St. Clair, Michigan with his wife, Genevieve. He became a writer because he loves books and telling stories. It is especially remarkable that Geeald grew up to become an avis reader, writer and book-lover, because he did not learn to read until he was 19 years old.

He has two people to thank for inspiring and teaching him to read. The first is his grandfather, who told him wonderful stories throughout his boyhood which kept his dreams alive as he grew up. The other person is the late Mary C. Burnell, a retired school teacher who recognized Gerald's potential and helped him learn to read.

Gerald has been writing books for the past ten years and plans to continue writing for the next ten years.
