Two Abraham Lincoln Mysteries
This eBook stands as a companion to the "Two Kennedy Assassination Mysteries".

Two facts provided by the excellent "Killing Lincoln: The Shocking Assassination that Changed America Forever" (O'Reilly and Dugard) inspired these stories.

The first, that the initial crime contemplated in the Surratt rooming house was the abduction of the President, led to a supposition of history, "Kidnapping Lincoln", in which the Chief Executive is taken after leaving the theater and put through a show trial by leaders of the defeated Confederacy, with a most unexpected last minute turn in the case that totally re-conceives some of the great characters of the day.

The second involved Lucy Lambert Hale, the younger daughter of a U.S. Senator who shared a romantic relationship with the President's son, Robert Todd Lincoln, before becoming engaged to his killer, John Wilkes Booth. Following Mark Twain's example, the fictional Lucy pens an autobiography, "Juxtaposition", to be published a century after her death, owing to the many secrets that cannot be revealed in the lifetimes of those involved including her key role in an attempt to prevent the assassination.
