A great mystery that keeps you engaged from beginning to end! Good characters and story line. The only distraction is the use of British terms/words for American. For example; "lockups". Storage locker, storage unit, locker rental would have made more sense to me. "Huts" my guess the author was describing lake cabins or lake cottages, or even a campsite. "Ranchers" ??? Bacon? Your guess is as good as mine.

Thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series, An Ace and a Pair and enjoyed the second, Two Bare Arms, just as much. A crusty detective who owns up to being a dinosaur in today's modern law enforcement is teamed with a younger female detective known for her brash personality. Instead of clashing they find their personalities compliment each other while trying to solve cold cases. Some editing mistakes that can be overlooked but the ringer for me was when the first book referred to an Eagles song and again in the second book a reference to The Eagles. Being my favorite band of all time made me immediately adore Blake Banner. Give these books a read, great plot lines and characters you like right away. Keep this series going, Mr. Banner!

Excellent book! Characters are engaging and real, easy to connect to. Twists and turns but not too extreme to follow. I read the first one and immediately purchased the second. Read them both back to back. Best way to spend a rainy Saturday morning ever! Gotta go, buying the third one!

2nd book I've read from this author and I was not disappointed . I like that each story can stand alone but you still have continuing characters.
