Two Spirit Ranch is the story of Terri, a transgendered woman finding her way through the loss of her beloved uncle, the betrayal of her boyfriend, and the ups and downs of finding love in rural Montana. It shows the prejudice against those who are transgendered, but it also shows the love that can come from being true to ones self. Terri, born Terrance, had always hated the body she was born with. Never felt comfortable in her own skin. While in law school Terri began living as a woman, name change, the works. Eventually she even went through with gender reassignment surgery. The only member of her family that stood by her was her uncle, and when he passed, her family didn’t even tell her. The same day she finds out about his passing, her boyfriend breaks up with her because her being trans might be damaging to his future political aspirations... really? She was honest with him up front about who she was and who she had been, but prejudice and bigotry (and a man with no ‘balls’) took love from her again. Seeking time away, she heads out to deal with the ranch he left her, where she meets sexy Sherriff Jake Collins. As they grow close, she makes a choice in whether to tell him about ‘him’, who she was, and things escalate from there. The story was sweet and very real in so many ways. I would have liked it better without the prologue but overall, truly enjoyed the story and the characters. Two Spirit Ranch is a great romance that happens to also show that not all heroines are born, some have to find themselves before love can find them.
Nicely done plot, but several typos. That is unfortunate.
