Overview

With a quarterback and two rappers trading autographs in the elevator and a film producer with secured funding and national distribution waiting in reception, it is another picture perfect day in the offices of Dex Randle's Philadelphia entertainment and sports law practice. That is, until Val Clifton and organized crime boss Vince Carpozzi march through the glass doors with an envelope stuffed full of cash. An emerging pop star with killer looks and a voice destined for fame, Val's desires quickly rise to conflict with Carpozzi's devious scheming and control.
Soon love struck by her producer and fellow Dex client, Trolly Turner, the three must conceal a budding relationship from Carpozzi and his cronies. Following a gambling ploy gone awry and feeling a lack of appreciation from Val, Carpozzi vows to ruin them all. Blood is shed and lives are forever changed before Dex can salvage the day with a little help from some unlikely resources.

We need more books like this! Not enough books dare to expose the dark side of fame and over indulgence. With this #metoo movement , now more than ever people need to be aware of what lengths others will go to in order to get what they want. The tale of this book follows the lives of entertainment attorney, Dex Randle, and aspiring singer, Val Clifton, as they navigate their way through new found fame and stardom. Over time they realize that the roads they chose to walk have a greater price than they both expected and they begin to rethink everything they've ever known. What makes this book great, is that it's not just a "good read". It's an insightful one that makes the reader think as they read through this roller coaster ride of a tale. I highly recommend it.

This book was an engaging and exciting read. The scandalous, seedy world of the entertainment industry the author writes about is captivating, but that's not what makes this book special. Unlike similar books in this genre this one goes above and beyond by creating a whirlwind of a journey for its characters to go through. The characters don't just get caught up in the mess they're thrown into- they move past it and grow from it. The two leads entertainment lawyer Dex Randle and aspiring singer songwriter Val Clifton go to hell and back and who they grow into is truly inspiring. If you want to read something that's juicy, thrilling, and thoughtfully written I would highly recommend this book. It's an outstanding read that someone can really learn a lot from.
