About the Author

In a previous life, Patricia Kiyono taught elementary school students by day and changed diapers at night. Now she teaches college students part time and changes diapers only when she's taking care of grandkids. She loves to do anything that doesn't involve exercise. Right now her favorite activities, in addition to writing, include scrapbooking, sewing, and making music. She and her husband live in southwest Michigan, near their five children and nine grandchildren.

If you're looking for a book to get you into the spirit of Christmas, this is the first book you need to pick up - and if you love regencies you are in for a treat! Jeanne Brown is a loving, sweet woman who has a special way of teaching the poor children at the chapel school. The only problem is that she has to work with stiff and uppity Robert Townley, the Duke of Bartlett's valet. Though it doesn't seem like these two will be able to work together, we learn that sometimes the person you think you can't stand to be with is the very person you need most. Kiyono does an excellent job transporting the reader into the regency period. Her settings come alive with her descriptions and her characters are easily seen in the mind's eye. This is a story that I will read every holiday season.
