Jo Burke hasn’t had it easy in life and that includes her history with men. She’s resigned herself to the fact that she really knows how to choose ’em. Not. So when Tate McBride comes around, she doesn’t trust her instincts for a minute because those same instincts have proven faulty time and again. He can’t be nearly as great a guy as he appears to be on the surface.

Tate McBride enjoys being around the feisty redheaded but can’t quite get her to trust him. He’s not worried, though, because one way or another he’s going to win her over.
When Jo’s life is in danger, Tate comes face to face with the possibility of losing the woman he loves. He’s not about to let that happen.

## What happened to Jo? She was amazing in Gage's story. That's why I searched for her story. This time, albeit beautiful, she was a doormat. And I couldn't scrounge up any fondness for Tate because he kept letting his ex-girlfriend interfere with his relationship with the heroine. After the second time his EX pulled him away from Jo and he said NOTHING and let her manipulate him I lost all respect. And she even tried a third time. Jeez dude, grow a pair and send her packing. But no he must console her because she's hurting and crying. And the heroine just stood there and took it as the Ex treated her like crap. Ugh, not recommended.

3.25* This is a great series and I would highly recommend it to everyone. I cant wait to see what comes next.  However I enjoyed this book but it wasn't as good as the rest of the series. It just felt like it was missing something. Jo and Tate were good together and I'm hoping to read Charlee's HEA. I'd also like to read more about the McBide cousins.

The whole series is very good. Enjoy the characers being brought together thru out the series. These two characters Tate and Jo really find themselves after they have been seperated since they were 11 yrs old. Jo had a rough childhood and also some of her early 20's, but she has always had a big heart with people she cares about. Tate is a big sweetheart that any girl would love. Keep them coming Ms. McCray!!

TATE & JO'S STORY ... HOT, HOT, HOT! The cowboys just get hotter, the gals get more beautiful, the love more explosive, and the peril more dangerous. Tying You Down features another of the McBride men. This time it's Tate, and he's got his eye on Jo ... who he hasn't seen since she was 11 years old. At that time, Jo's stepmother had sent her away to school and this is the first time she's been back in 15 years. But true love doesn't always run smooth. There's an old girlfriend of Tate's who keeps popping up, making her presence known as much as she can. She has decided that she wants him back and what she wants, she gets. When accidents start occurring and putting Jo at risk of losing her life, Tate is worried sick that whoever is behind this campaign will finally get the job done. Jo's sister has a new man in her life who she suspects of being something other than what he presents. So is he behind the accidents? Or maybe the girlfriend who wants Jo out of the picture as far as Tate is concerned. Intimate moments are hot, hot, hot.... but it adds to the story and does not detract from the action going on outside the bedroom. Romantic Suspense at its best!

This whole series is so good, highly recommend it. Great plots, believable likable characters. The women are real, not barbie dolls with big tits, perfect bodies, which is something I appreciate, being a normal woman myself. They dont make me feel inferior, I can relate to them. The women are strong, smart, independent with substance. The men are hot hot hot, but more important they are real, caring men who have flaws and respect women, they dont judge them by their bust size but by their intelligence and heart. Dont pass up this series. It is fun, light hearted, a good easy read that makes you feel good at the end of each book.

****A gifted copy was provided by the author for an honest review**** This book is about Jo Burke and Tate McBride.  Years ago when Jo was a pre-teen, she knew Tate but her wicked step mom sent her away to New York City to school. Now that her step mom is dead, Jo is back to help her younger half-sister out and that puts her back into Tate’s world. When this book starts, we see Jo and Tate together coming from Tess and Gage’s wedding. Tate is making some veiled comments about how he wants to get more into Jo’s life. Jo, who has been hurt by men before, is leery to let him close to her. Tate lets Jo know he will get into her life and show her that he Is serious and not like the other men that she knew. As the story progresses, Jo is dealing with her half-sister and this guy who is not what he seems. Jo is worried she will be hurt terribly. Jo’s sister will not listen to reason about him.  She has blinders on and nothing Jo says or does will get thru. Tate’s x-girlfriend comes back into the picture. She wants to get back Tate. She is horrible to Jo. This causes Jo some insecurities. Tate does not show he wants his x girlfriend around. Jo and Tate work past this and just realize they have something special and it is worth looking into. As they are dating and as Jo is trying to keep an eye on her half-sister, Jo is besieged by “accidents”. Tate is terrified he will not be able to keep her safe. As the story comes to a climax, there is a major twist and turn. It had me on the edge of my seat. This is such an awesome story. The words are so deep and paint such a picture that you feel that you are literally in the story. I will say I hope that Jo’s sister gets her own story down the road.  Another fantastic story in the Riding Tall series.  My Rating: 5 stars *****

Jo and Tate make a good couple. Both have been hurt in the past and have some issues (especially Jo) now. The one element that I found most interesting is Jo's issuees with food and. How she deals with it. So many times those things are not talked about and kept hidden. Food issues are real and a problem in our society. More important is to know they kill. I recommend this story, although there are a couple of explicit scenes I would, with discretion, allow a teen to read.

Rarely is this heroines issue portrayed especially with such realism. It really gave depth to this story.
