About the Author

David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim met and fell in love while studying at the Parsons School of Design in New York City. When Sun-Min moved back to Korea, the couple maintained a long-distance relationship by writing each other letters, on which David began drawing little ugly creatures. Sun-Min surprised David by sewing a plush version of one of his characters as a Christmas gift, and the Uglydolls were born! Several years and many dolls later, they are happily married and live in Los Angeles.

I bought this book for my 9-year-old nephew and he's read it twice already. He's the kind of kid who isn't really a big reader, but certain books he really gets into. This he found hilarious. The last book he did this with was 'Did you ever wonder?' Ugly Guide is a great book and I would recommend it to everyone in this age group.

An excellent introduction into the world of Ugly! Fabulous illustrations, and the joviality and dry humor typical of David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim. Would definitely recommend for both adults and children.

I love this book.My favorite part is the police force. It is great for any age,but you need to go through it slowly to really enjoy it.It is a bit unorganized though. But it is my favorite book.

this book was very cute! It had lots of ironic, intruging, or odd pictures and characters in it.

this book is great for readers with big imagination like me because it inspires people to make there own world and be themselves and not listen to what people think of them ugly means unique
