I picked up 'Ultimate Excursions' because the haunting cover photo caught my eye. From the gruesome jolt of the first few pages to the dark humor that follows, I couldn't put this book down. The 328 pages flew through my fingers and I finished in two days. The novel is set in locales ranging from the exotic to the mundane (or should I say from the sublime to the ridiculous?). The characters feel like old friends by the time you close the book. On top of all this, there's a great plot twist toward the end that makes you rethink everything that came before. This is a wonderful book. And it would make one hell of a movie.
