Most Helpful Customer Reviews
I am a "Dialogic reader" to my kids. Dialogic reading is basically reading a story through conversation. This lets kids run the show. "Reading" a book dialogically is asking a series of open ended questions about what you are looking at together. This is a proven reading technique that bolsters reading comprehension. That is why I found Un Brella to be such a gem! The book has no text and let's the readers just unfold their own story. The juxtaposition of contrary ideas in this book offer almost endlessly fun opportunities to discuss what they are onbserving. My son laughs heartily at the silliness of the little girl with the magic umbrella. This is a must have for any home library. I eagerly await for more offerings from Scott Franson.
