In the story, Grandfather uses his experiences in WWII as a Code Talker to help his young grandson come to terms with a hard transition in his life. This book can be used to illustrate a range of points. 1) Pride in self and abilities, 2) Facing change with a positive attitude, 3) Dealing with racial tensions, 4) History of WWII, 5) Patriotism, 6) The inclusiveness of the American Dream... The list could go on and on.
