The fifth in the series, "Uncertain Alllies" continues an excellent urban fantasy series. Connor Gray, druid, treads his way through betrayals, politics, guilt and personal relationships as he deals with his diminished druidic powers and the machination of Elf, Fairy and the rising Unselig Court. Even though Gray has lost his powers through a mysterious "illness", he still manages to waylay the plans of his "betters." The story is set in modern Boston where a world where ancient european myths are true merged 100 years ago with "our" earth. Gray is a consultant to the police when murder raises its ugly head. Although I enjoyed the book and the author gives enough information that it can be read as a stand alone I would recommend reading the previous books to get a better understanding of the intricate story unfolding. (Besides, they all are good read.)

Don't bother! When i started reading this series, I loved it. It had all of the appeal of Dresden Files while remaining fresh and unique. Then the series went downhill with the 4th book as the author spent more time recapping earlier books and setting up for the long tale then telling a story anymore. I decided to try one more, but this book was just more of the same. Several of the 'recaps' are repeated three or more times - when they don't even contribute to the plot! Finally, the last 75pps or so really gets going but by then I was so annoyed/bored I just wanted to get through with it. I'm done with this series - there's no reason to wrap a short story in a recap novel!

God forbid, some woman have men as friends. I know that 'Joe' is Lacy. And im not falling for it. Ive hated Lacy since i met her, she was a bich then and an obseesive bich now. I dint think she even deserves Connor, and i dont care if he loves Lacy. But when she breaks your heart,AGAIN, do not. I repeat do not come running back to me. I warned you before, Jessica warned you before. And i dont want her to ever talk to me or my family. because i love my family to a great extent that i dont want them hurt by a fool. mlst likly this is my last post at this book, because a my enemy has posted here. Lacy, i dont know how you stole a gentlemans heart, but im going to get him back. Id die to have him back. I love him more than you ever could. Now. All i ask is for connor to be my friend. And lacy gets all obsessive again. And i also dont buy 'i shot myself in the head because i thought connor doesnt love me anymore.' All of that is bull shyt!*leaves*
