About the Author

My love of reading romance fiction goes back to those early years when I was raising a young family. It wasn't until much later in life I actually took up the pen to write. I wish I could have gotten to this point in my career much sooner rather than later but, life simply got in the way far too many times. I know because of those detours I have become a more passionate and expressive writer because I can draw upon those painful moments in my past when I need to create the kind of raw human emotion I want my readership to feel. My wish is that my readers walk away with not just an entertaining read but the importance in knowing, "Without imagination & dreams, we lose the excitement of wonderful possibilities." PLEASE leave a review to help others discover my work. I would be so very appreciative.

I got stalled out (by life, not the book). Finally had the opportunity to get back to it & finish. Kudos to Cynthia for another wonderful book, filled with characters of strength and compassion. The willingness of Gavin to reach out to Pamela after the time had passed...Just what every woman wants. And the ability to work where she wants without the constraints of the traditional lifestyle.

This is a life like romance with a bit of suspense thrown in. Let me tell you, I was biting my nails and sitting on the edge of my seat... literally! The book flows well, but I have to admit I had reservations about Gavin. Maybe because he was so secretive, it did not endear him to me. I understood his reasons for secrecy later, but by then he was not my favorite character. I have been wondering about the title... does it pertain to the song by the same name? This is the first book that I read by this author. I was intrigued from the first page. I will be reading more of her books. I received this book for free from Instafreebie.

Wow. You will like, love, then hate then love again the characters. You will be surprised, shocked, angry at the circumstances. You may even find yourself yelling at the characters like i did.

Reviewed by Rabia Tanveer for Readers' Favorite Unchained Melody by Cynthia Roberts is the story of a successful woman who has it all; except the things she really desires. Pamela Landers has everything that one could desire. She has a successful career as a senior partner in a law firm, a great home, and a car that most men would drool over. However, Pamela does not feel satisfied. She wants what every girl dreams of; she wants children and a husband who loves her very much. But she has no idea how she can get it. Gavin Templeton may not be what she thought she wanted, but he is what fate has chosen for her. However, things are not as easy as they seem. Love is never easy. There are sacrifices to make. But will Pamela make those sacrifices or will she be too scared to take a chance on love? This was a very sweet novel. There is no other way to describe it. Unchained Melody is a clean, passionate, and very good romance that you will love to read again and again. Pamela’s journey is honest, something that every working woman can relate to. She is a great character, and Gavin is a very cool guy. This is perhaps the first romance novel I have read this year that is smooth, well conceived, and very well written. This is definitely a novel that I would read again. It is going to stay on my bookshelf for a very, very long time.

I received a free copy of this for an honest review. I really liked the book. It started off so quickly and slowed down to pick right back off again at the end. The story is about Gavin Templeton and Pamela Landers. He's from a rich family and she is a lawyer who specialises in wrongful deaths. I loved the story but there are a few unanswered questions. I want to know what happens after the book. I hope Ms Roberts continues Gavin and Pamela's story. I would read another book of hers. It's not what I'd call a short story but it's not a novel either. So if you want something good to read and don't want a novel or a short story then this is the book for you. It has some sex scenes. But they are small scenes. Don't get me wrong it's written well but it's not long enough to justify it being there. It's a blip on a radar. Sex scenes are hard to write. This is a mixed review. I know that. There are some spelling/tense errors but I didn't mind them as the book was great. It just distracts you for a second. Overall. Great book. But want more.

This book will melt your heart! I would recommend this book as it is a very good read. It’s a bit slow to start but once you get into it, it takes off. It’s a love story that will have your heart going out to the characters. Pamela Landers is a very determined, smart, hard-working woman who strides to do her best in the workplace. However, her love life is a non-existing which is not happy with until she meets Gavin Templeton. Once she meets Gavin her heart starts to race and she can’t help were her imagination goes with the thoughts of the both of them. When she meets Gavin and he asks her to sit with him at his table in the diner she can’t help but look into the Amber coloured eyes and be taken away by them. His eyes are her weakness throughout the book. Gavin Templeton is a handsome, smart, hard-working, family comes first kind of guy. When he meets Pamela he can’t help himself but be the knight in shining armor and come to her rescue. It was at the diner that he wanted to get to know her and know everything about her. Would Fate be so cruel to take them away from each other after bringing them together? I loved this book and I could not put in down, once you start it you can’t stop reading it as is a roller coaster ride of emotions.

When I first seen the title of this book it immediately made me think of the song "Unchained Melodies" by the Righteous Brothers! That is one of my all time favorite songs that my mother used to sing to me as a child! I knew immediately I had to read the book solely on that principal! I had no idea what it was about but I said, "sign me up!". I was not disappointed in the least! Once I received the copy of this book I was in love with the front page graphics and was excited to dig in once reading the synopsis. Love stories are my Achilles heel, I can't say no to them! :) If you love them too, you should go check this book out! We open with a headstrong, powerful woman that you can't help but adore! She is successful and thriving at life, but what she really wants deep down is a family and a man to call her own. Will she find what she craves the most?!?! Go find out for yourself! It is an amazing book! It's funny how life has a way of giving you what you want when you least expect it and the author portrays that throughout the story. She shows the ups and downs that life can throw at us and she gives us characters that we can all relate to. This book will have you laughing, crying and hanging on to your seat as the story unfolds into a beautiful happy ending. This is the first book in the Love Song Standards series and also the first book I have read from this author and I truly enjoyed every page of it! I can not wait to dive into the second book in this series!

UNCHAINED MELODY BY CYNTHIA ROBERTS: In romance novel, Unchained Melody by author Cynthia Roberts, Pamela Landers, young up and coming attorney has it all. Wealthy, owns a high-priced condo, drives an expensive car and a career soon headed for partnership; so, what's missing? Ah, elusive love, husband, and children are missing from her life. Work has been her life up to the this point. On vacation in ski country, Pamela and fate will collide. Meeting Gavin for the first time minutes before she see's his car go off the snowy road side cliff, Pamela, immediately knew she had to try to help him. Sit back, get comfortable, as fate will step in and perhaps unchain Pamela's heart in the form of handsome, wealthy, and secretive Gavin Templeton. My romance reviews of novel, Unchained Melody, follows. CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT: Does love at first sight exist? Ask Pamela and Gavin, as they will definitely have an answer for you. In Unchained Melody, Roberts gives the reader the premise of attraction and love at first sight. Pamela's character has locked her heart away as she found men unreliable and other very uncomplimentary traits. Focusing on her career, Roberts gave Pamela the chance to live for something other than a career and money. I found Pamela likeable and believable, as well as, her hesitations towards men realistic due to her career choice as a highly talented litigation attorney. Including a touch of mystery in this romance novel, Roberts added secrecy to Gavin's personality. A little mystery to whet the appetite. What was he holding so close to his chest? Sorry, you will have to read the story. The reader will find misunderstandings, preconceptions, crisis, and trauma; Roberts created an entertaining book. In concluding my reviews of romance novel, Unchained Melody, I found a fast paced story. Also, the plotting was smooth and steady; perfect for an afternoon of relaxing light reading.Although the book has two intense love scenes above the description of light lovemaking, I did not find them erotic or overly graphic. Nor did the scenes contain crude wording. UNCHAINED MELODY RECOMMENDATION: STARS 4: I would not hesitate to buy this book for my self or a friend. Suitable for young adults and adults who reads solid entertaining romances. Falling in love with someone could be so easy, as Pamela Landers demonstrated. The story started with a heartstopping event that had my mind play out different scenarios. It even had me imagining the movie Ghost. Well, things took a different turn. The characters could have been developed more. Sometimes, I see them as shallow individuals. And in the world of Pamela and Gavin, everyone seemed attractive. That's how the author described even the supporting characters. The love story was fast-paced that it's seemingly built on superficial grounds like hot s*x. The latter part caused my eyes to leak, though. It was emotional and heartfelt. I also hoped that the song Unchained Melody gained a more favorable interpretation in the book. I would recommend this to anyone raring to read a quick love story.

I just want to preface by saying that I am such a fan of Ms. Cynthia Roberts. I have always enjoyed her writing in the past, and she is one of the most wonderful authors to work with. With that said, I was a little disappointed with UNCHAINED MELODY. I have grown accustomed to this author really putting thought and depth into her characters, as well their storylines. So I was surprised by the difference in this particular book. First, the editing (or somewhat lack of) was almost distracting in many parts of the book. I love when a book just flows, and it was frustrating to have to stop at times, to mentally fix a word or to re-read a sentence. Second, the story had almost zero build-up. You start the book off by being introduced to the main female character, and then jumping almost immediately into the heart of the plot. The plot itself lacked some depth, although it had the potential to be a really, truly gripping story. Instead, I kept getting stuck on how unrealistic some parts of it were. Bottom Line: Wonderful author. This particular book, however, just didn't do it for me.
