An insightful look into people who lived when innovation was key to America. I found Newton's observations of these famous, brilliant people so fascinating I couldn't put the book down finishing it in a day and rereading it many times. Very inspirational 1
Never in one place have I had the opportunity to put together, in a coherent form, the lives of many of the people I've been reading about for so long. Most biographies about famous technical people are short on first person anecdotes and stories. This book allowed me to piece together many of the individual commentaries and quotes and stories and parables about Henry Ford, Thomas Edison and Harvey Firestone (and other prominent technical businessmen and their wives and families) that before were isolated and somewhat vague. I recommend that before you read this book you read as many personal biographies of these men and women as possible, and then use this book as the adhesive that largely binds the pieces together.
