Sweet. Clean. Wholesome. Romance that touches that heart in more ways than one. Tom and Jenna are two souls torn apart by life and circumstances. They are both brought together through an emergency. They stay together for a chance to find that something. This was a read that was encompassing the soul, the mind, the emotions. My first read in the Texas Heart series did not leave me wanting anything, except to read more of the beautiful romances and how each couple found their special something/one. The read was filled with life, complications, circumstances, chance, emotions, and more. I found my emotions and heart engaged and pulled along with each page turned and each new chapter finished. Tom/Tag, Jenna, and Brian weaves a beautiful romance that encompasses both Tom and Jenna but also brings in Brian. This was a read that I would recommend to others looking to be engaged in their romance.

This was a “feel good” sweet romance between Jenna, the widow of a military man, and Tag, an ex-military man suffering from PTSD flashbacks and guilt due to the death of his family while he was in Afghanistan. Jenna’s young son, Brian, has an unusual and deadly kidney disease that puts everyone’s emotions under a strain, yet brings them all together in love. A well-written contemporary by an author who knows what she’s doing.

Once in a long while you come across a book in which not only the story touches your heart, but so do the characters. This is one of those rare jewels. This story centers around Jenna and Tom/Tag. Jenna is a military widow with a young son whose kidney disease is very serious. A disease that can shorten his life and doesn’t allow him to be a normal , active boy. She has moved back home with her Dad because she wants and needs the support of family . Tom has recently purchased the ranch next door. He has come to Texas to escape life as he knew it. A POW that suffered not only during his imprisonment but also in his personal life and currently has to endure PTSD. These two meet when Jenna desperately needs help in getting her son, Brian, to the emergency room . Here is a story about two individuals that have been devastated emotionally, mentally and in Tom’s case, physically. Their relationship slowly develops and in doing so, it helps Tom come out of his isolation. To quote the author “..life is good and each day is a celebration…” and that “ you can’t stop living because you’re afraid of losing again “ How true are those two thoughts. A story about second chances and about love , hope and family. Kudos to Ms Mondello for an outstanding book. I was gifted this copy. The opinions expresses are solely my own.

This is a wonderful, heartwarming story that grabbed me from the very first page. Tom (aka Tag) and Jenna are great characters and their individual stories make them so incredibly deserving of each other. Tag is a former military man who has endured severe personal loss and is just looking for peace and quiet to get his head together. Jenna is the mom of a young son, Brian, who has some serious health issues to deal with. Her spirit and determination may be just the balm Tag's battered heart needs to start loving and living again. Definitely a book I recommend.

Life-Affirming. I know a book is good when I'm moved to tears, as I was by this one. Tom and Jenna's love story is a must read! Clean romance with a HEA. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

A mother's love and a child's trust in that bond is the driving force behind Under a Texas Star. Jenna faces an obstacle that every parent fears, not being able to protect her child. She will risk jumping into the abyss of despair to save her son and if she has to make a pack with the devil, so be it. That desperation leads her into the reluctant arms of a courageous warrior, burdened with a wounded soul and a bruised heart. Together they find strength in each other and forge an alliance of hope that heals hidden wounds and creates a family. The most unexpected outcomes can happen when faith is tested. Lisa Mondello knows how to strike the right chord in the heart. Her stories make a reader think and inspire them to believe.
