UNDER GROUND BOOK #1
Love is a taboo, a mere fantasy—foreign, unreachable, and dangerous.
Born in a society where women have no rights, seventeen-year-old Thia Clay holds little hope for a bright future. When Thia's parents sell her into marriage to elite member William Fox, she slowly gives in to despair. William is nothing but a cruel, selfish young man with no other interest than to serve his own.
Born illegally and forced to hide from the authorities his entire life, nineteen-year-old Chi Richards is an active member of the Underground—a rebellious group seeking to overthrow the government.
Chi only has one goal—to rescue his parents from the work camp they were forced into.
Meeting Thia was never part of the plan, and neither was falling in love with her.
If caught in their forbidden relationship, Thia and Chi could face a death sentence. And when devastating secrets surface from Chi's past, Thia has to rely on her instincts to make a choice that could save her or destroy her forever.

Under Ground by Alice Rachel is the first book, and it was phenomenal. This dystopian novel centers around a male only society where women have no rights and are property of males. This is how everyone knows how the world works until a terrible war happens and women begin to out number the men. The thing that I really liked about this book was Thia’s character, and how much stronger she is than what she initially appeared to be. The way that this story was written drew me in from the first page and kept me enthralled all the way until the end. I can’t wait to read the second book in this series and pick up any other books by this author. This is definitely a must read for everyone!!
Dystopian books are some of my absolute favorite books and The Underground by Alice Rachel was no exception. Not only was this an exciting and fast read but I literally cannot wait to read others in the series. I hope this author likes stalkers because I will be stalking her goodreads and amazon to find out when the other books will be released! I was pretty much glued to this book from the get go and read just about 75% of it in one day. This is a book that’s over 400 pages! With that being said the writing was great and so was the character development. I like the author's writing style and I never once found it slow. Everything moved along in a quick fashion and I so appreciate it. I have to say the ending caught me off guard and I even said “OMG” out loud. It was loud enough for my husband to ask what was the matter lol! Anyway this was a great book. I would rate 5 stars!
First off I have to admit that I am not usually into Dystopian romance. I do like YA books but not normally dystopian stuff. That being said I was surprised at how much I actually liked this book. That being said this is one of the books where a woman has no rights at all in society and they can be bought and sold like cattle. Thia is a woman whose only crime is being born a woman. As a result her parents basically sell her to be married to William who is a very nasty peice of work and will never care for her. Then there is Chi who is totally different. He was born illegally so he has spent his whole life hiding with the Underground rebellion. His only goal is to find and save his parents. Until he meets Chi. The problem is that if they are caught they will be sentenced to death just for falling in love. The book is written well but I did have a bit of trouble connecting with some of the characters but that is probably just me. The plot flowed well and so did the whole premise of the book. It is a book with a slow start and you can actually feel the depression and sadness that Thia is feeling. I do like that it is not a love at first sight type thing. The ending will throw you for on heck of a loop and for that alone I recommend you read this!!
