I hadn't heard any other music from Jenny Lewis before I bought this cd and I must say that her music ROCKS. It's currently on my iPod and use it at the gym regularly...I know that sounds funny but it works for me!

Rilo Kiley get even more adventurous with this latest release. Jenny Lewis belts out songs about seedy nightlife with soul while the boys bring the funk. Very different from their early work but a natural progression from their previous release including Jenny and Blake's solo outings. Put this CD in and you won't want to take it out.

Repetitive. Trite. Cheesy.
I don't know what happened to this band. I can only guess that Lewis decided she was tired of being an indie darling and wanted big fame. Sennett can hardly be found on the album (one song?! Reminds me of Rancid's "Indestructible" where Lars' vocals were reduced to "whoa whoa"s and there was little to no content.) What confuses me is that Lewis put out a solo album a year before this mess and that album was everything this album is not: beautiful and deep. If you've heard "The Moneymaker" and actually enjoyed it, then by all means, by this album. Every other song on the album is as soulless, cheap, and boring as that single.
