I loved this book! Great writing style and awesome charactors! It was like a "back in the day" old book. Girls are not allowed to be with men alone unless its their husband. So when the feelings start to build about this interseting man, things start to heat up! He wants her soooo bad...but he cant be with her. Lots of good parts that you will not forget!! If you like romance and the paranormal then BUY THIS BOOK!!!!! You will not regret it!

The chemistry between the lead characters, Alexander & Angelica will leave you sufferocating for air. The fire, the intensity, & the devotion for each other is much to be desired for alone. After reading each moment they had shared, my pulse went into hyper-drive. I thought about this book every moment of the day, unable to STOP reading it. After I read the last word, I clung onto it for dear life, as it was my ultimate lover. It will lead you to the edge of your seat, wanting & yearning for more. If you are searching for a book w/an immense source of passion, action, suspense, & explicate detail; you will not be disappointed with this book. I would HIGHLY recommend it above all the other books I've read & wrote reviews about thus far. It has topped my list of favorites & will probably remain for a significant amount of time.

This book was everything a romantic, historical fiction/paranormal should be! The story was well written and thought out, leaving no lose ends. The romance between the hero & heroine develops at a lovely pace, making you want more. Couldn't put it down. I hope there is more to come from Mina Hepsen!

I really enjoyed this book and am looking for more similar to it. It was a book I couldn't put down and liked the main characters whose romance was very believable.

This was like a slightly more adult version of Twilight. Good non-bloodsucking vampires, well except for the bad guys. It was witty, romantic and original. The characters were very likeable. I would have liked her to develope some of the lesser characters a little more. I would have enjoyed seeing what happened to some of them. I also thought she rushed a little to the ending. This book could have easily had 100 or so more pages. As a whole I really liked the book and even went back and read a few of my favorite chapters again! I will look forward to more of her books!

Couldn't get passed page 60. Wasn't expecting a masterpiece, but I was expecting the story to be entertaining...

One of my favorite books. I love the time period, I love the way they talk and dress, I love the mystery, I love the family dynamic, and I love the way Angelica falls in love. Everything about this book is awesome.

Granted, I am not a published author, however when you've read a lot of literature from different sources you become familiar with writing styles. It was apparent from the beginning of the book that the author was either not speaking english as a first language or had not read a lot of literature from the time period the story falls into. It reads a lot like a modern story later modified to be a 19th century work. As far as the story itself, character development was lacking, and I was left wanting more background for characters like Alexander and James and Margaret. If I was the author, I would have made this story into a trilogy. There was just a lot of story and character development left wanted and lacking. I was interested and left disappointed, especially with the ending. I won't ruin the ending but really??? I mean, come on...you could've made the surprise antagonist someone else. It's not even believable. Overall, good effort, terrible delivery. I say rewrite and reprint.

I went into reading this book with very little expectations, and by the end I was not impressed at all. I found the characters to be childish, especially Angelica who throws fits with little provokation. I would have been ok with the story if the language wasnt off for the time period that the story was set in. The author uses language that we use today that wasnt used back then. Another issue I have is that the author doesnt seem to know the difference between till and 'til, it was aggrevating. Besides the errors in the story I found the vampires to be lacking; in my opinion they werent vampires. All in all it was a disappointing read.

Loved this book. Very captivating with its old romance. I'm a huge Twilight Saga fan, and I thought this was a very good adult version of immortal romance. Would recommend for even none Twilight fans.

Hadn't heard of this author, but gave it a chance after seeing it as a recommended read by another reviewer. It was an easy read, as I finished it in a day, but would've preferred a little more time spent on the ending just as a previous reviewer mentioned. Still a good read for someone like me who was taking a break from reading series.

I wasn't too excited to read this book because of all the Twilight craze now. But oh boy, this book was amazing! I loved it. I couldn't put the book down. I kept wanting to read the book when I wasn't able to. But, I only give it four stars, because I also felt that the ending was a little rushed. The author could have wrote a few more chapters to make it end a little better. Either way, I love this book! Sequel hopefully?
