Independent Reviewer for Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books! This was such a tragic story. It was utterly heartbreaking. The devastation that the lead female character goes through is something no one should ever have to go through at such a young age. The flip side to the story is so sweet, so charming, so loving. The male lead character is smitten by the female lead and is desperate to hold on to her, no matter the costs. I always enjoy when the title of the story clicks and falls into place. This title clicked and fell into place but I can’t say it was a joyous moment. Had it been written in other circumstances it certainly could have been sticky sweet just like the juice of a peach. However, it was tragic to say the least. Kaelyn Jefferies experiences more tragedy and upheaval by nearly everyone she encounters than anyone should have to experience, let alone by her 18th birthday. She wants to be loved so badly but she experiences pain, hatred, rejection, and bullying instead. She is targeted at school while no one says anything otherwise. The judicial system even ignores her pleas for help. She is in a pool full of sharks with a slow bleeding cut, until Julian Ean reaches his hand down and helps her up. Details and descriptions were right on par. They give you everything you need to know as you read to paint a picture of the events easy to keep you up to speed. This story doesn’t lack several steamy bedroom scenes, which will keep you blushing the further you read. They are written in a classy, sexy way but the steam meter is sure going off! Although this story is quite sad, and it broke my heart to read the things Kaelyn has to endure, it was a beautifully written story. It’s one that will stick with you for a little bit once you read the last word but it was a pretty good read. * A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review.
