“Rule number one: no lying. That was the first, most important rule. Rule number two: must not live with parents. Rule number three: must have a job. Rule number four: no dating a guy who had already dated a girlfriend. No friends' exes. Chicks before dicks, as her cousin Becca always said. “ Lucy Benoit is just about to break every one of those rules for the perfect guy she meets in her apartment’s laundry room. She wasn’t planning on falling for Andy Sullivan, she already has Dell. She is working hard to complete her college degree while working full time at the Sports Authority so her life has had little time for romance … but there is an electrifying chemistry between Andy and herself, a chemistry she can’t deny… Andy Sullivan claims to be a geeky gamer, jobless, living with his mom and wearing socks with sandal...he is everything Lucy should run away from. Andy Sullivan really isn’t jobless, he is actually a doctor and a college department head working on a thesis about the gamer community. He is instantly drawn to Lucy and even though he thinks this will be a quick fling, he soon realize that he’s found his perfect match. The only problem, he’s lied to Lucy and she doesn’t even know his real name. Undercover Professor is a heartwarming romance with steamy love scenes, a certifiable cousin/best friend and a woman soccer team that always looses. I found this story extremely engaging, the characters relatable, the banter witty and fun and the romantic encounters sweltering. 4 stars! I'm new to the genre of erotic fiction, but I've never wanted a couple to come together more! Meow! Plus, as one who loves to play computer games, I love the subplot of the gamer community. Good read!

I definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a great contemporary romance. For some reason with the title and synopsis I was envisioning an uncover detective who is pretending to be a professor. I don't know why but that is the picture I went into the story with. However, this story is about a famous Professor, Dr. Drew who is undercover for a story about how to get a male gamer laid. He's staying with his mother who just had hip surgery and is helping her recover while working on his story. This is where he meets one of the tenants in his mother's apartment, Lucy. Drew has been known as the love 'em and leave 'em type but with Lucy he finds himself falling hard... and fast. Even though this was not the story that I was expecting I really enjoyed it. It definitely lifted my reading spirits since I was starting to get in a rut. I enjoyed it so much that I devoured it in a day. I just couldn't seem to put it down. I fell in love with the characters. Drew started out really unsure and a jumbling mess at the beginning of the book. I even enjoyed crazy cousin Becca, who from day one started planning her marriage to Drew and their 2.5 kids and thinking up blue prints for their big house with a picket fence. I also liked that the author didn't spend a lot of time on useless information. You didn't have a lot of internal dialogue or senseless chatter between characters that didn't really pertain to the story. I definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a great contemporary romance. The author definitely hit the mark on her first book and I look forward to reading more work from her.

Very enjoyable with some laugh out loud moments. This book grew on me....fast. I have to admit that in the first 15%, I just wasn't feeling it. I mean, the gaming thing turned me off. I'm not a gamer and just couldn't get into the gaming references in the first bit of the book. Then, there was the first meeting between Lucy and Drew/Andy. Things just jumped into the heat of things a little fast for my taste. But, I stuck with it, and I'm really glad I did. I realized that the gaming thing was important to the story, as was the quick and heated moment in the laundry room. I very quickly had a story I could believe and enjoy. Undercover Professor is a sizzling hot romance that had me looking to the air conditioner for relief in 30 degree weather. The love scenes were nothing short of erotic and hot! The third person omniscient point of view gave you both Lucy and Andy's thoughts throughout the book, including the love scenes, making me swoon for Andy even more. The build up between Professor Hotpants and Juicy Lucy was perfectly paced, like a slow foreplay working its way up to the climax. I was completely satisfied by the time I finished this book. Overall, I will say this book is a fun and sexy romance with enough humor to complement the intense moments. The chemistry between Andy and Lucy is intense, and their attempt at fighting their attraction to one another adds to the overall build up and sensual volcano that eventually erupts in a heated frenzy. I recommend this book as a fun and fast read that will put a smile on your face and make you feel that you've made new friends who will remain in your heart. I would love to see a sequel that continues Andy and Lucy's story, as well as giving us a closer look at Becca and Dell. This is an excellent debut for December Gephart, and I look forward to more excellence from her in the future. Love a good story line with a good romance with some good laughs! This book gave me that. Interesting connection and twists in the book that had me feeling connected to the characters with my own life (sorta) Especially considering most of the story takes place in Wisconsin! :) DEFINATELY RECOMMENDED!
