About the Author
Tariq Shadid is a Palestinian surgeon residing in the Netherlands, who wrote numerous articles and essays about political developments in the Middle East in the beginning years of the 21st century. In this same period, Shadid sought to campaign for the Palestinian cause in various ways, mostly through writing and public speaking. He participated in Gretta Duisenberg's committee 'Stop the Occupation', was an active spokesman in the Dutch media for the Stop the War Coalition, and board member of the Palestinian Community in the Netherlands.
