What can I say? I don't often review, but just had to this time. Is there a life like the characters in this book portray in England? Or anywhere? I know this is a work of fiction, but, come on! I wanted to first, kill off Vivi, then changed my mind to Eleanor, when I realized that she was a full partner to the whole farcial plan they had for their lives. Eleanor, the dowdy unattractive sister, working her butt off to support the beautiful and vivacious Vivi, whose "job" is to dress in designer fashions, party with the elite uppercrust society and eventually marry for money. Eleanor, who was described as outspoken and forthright, let her sister take total advantage of her life. And The Duke....What a sorry for himself, (also never worked a day in his life), piece of self serving, overbearing, excuse for a man. "You must address me as Your Grace" Just...yuk. Ok. I'm an American woman. I can't say I understand British peerage. Just seemed so over the top. I wish I would have waited to purchase until a few reviews came out. I found myself skipping whole pages just to get through it. I paid for it, so I made myself read it. That's $4 I regret spending.
