~~~RECEIVED FOR AN HONEST REVIEW~~~ When reading from a new author you're not sure what to expect and you have doubts and are uncertain, but I tell you this is one heck of a read! R.E. Hunter knocked it out of the ball park with this book! Luke and Embry both have a not so good of a past, they each have a goal of getting what they want for the future, but will they be able to get each other and to over come the past? No spoilers here, so you will have to grab yourself and copy!
I just finished Undone, book one of the Disclosure series, by R.E. Hunter and received a copy to review.  I really liked this story - the main characters were very well-defined and the pace of the book was just right while also very easy to follow.  I have to give kudos to this author was creating very interesting secondary characters - these characters were especially helpful to the heroine, Embry aka Bree.  The hero Luke was at first a mysterious character as his back story took center stage. I don't want to give any spoilers away, but this story has several twists and plenty of drama.  The cliffhanger ending caught me by surprise and look forward to August 2014 when book two is released.  Congratulations to author R.E. Hunter on her five star book!
“Undone” by R.E. Hunter 5 out of 5 stars I loved “Undone”, the first book in a new series by R.E. Hunter. It has a little bit of everything…comedy, drama, romance, and even a little intrigue. The book’s main character is Embry and she is starting her first year of law school. She has newly returned to her hometown after having left to go to college in Florida. The intrigue is almost immediate when you find out that she basically ran away after her high school graduation in an effort to escape a guy. I liked how Hunter gave us clues here and there about what it was that made her run. It built up to the big reveal and it made it that more powerful for the suspense. There are a few side characters that are enjoyable. Embry’s best friend Morgan provides moral support and has a knack for getting to the core of her actions. Brett, Morgan’s boyfriend and Embry’s long time friend plays the role of honorary big brother well. Jeremy, Embry’s new law school friend, provides great comic relief and even though he secretly pines for her he reminds us that sometimes, in college, you just need to let loose and have fun. Embry’s love interest in the book is Luke. I will skip the details about what he does since it will spoil the book. I will say that he is a complex and layered character. He is somewhat mysterious and just when you think you have him figured out he surprises you again. He and Embry have a palpable chemistry that leaps off the pages and has you longing for their next meet up. Hunter has written a great introduction for this series. It set up all of the characters well and gave us just the right amount of back story to help us understand how we got to the present. I felt I understood the motivation behind Embry and Luke’s actions and I can’t wait to see how their story continues to unfold in the next book. Be prepared, though, for a cliffhanger ending. I anxiously await the arrival of book two! I would recommend this book to anyone. It is well written and thoughtful and Hunter has sold me on the series! *I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.* Shannon
Exceptional writing and beautiful story telling by R.E. Hunter! I fell in love with both Embry and Luke. I started this book midmorning and couldn't put it down until I finished it. A good amount of angst and drama blended with just the right amount of romance and passion. I can't recommend this enough. There is a bit of a cliffhanger and I will be impatiently waiting for the next book!!
I'm not sure I can express how much I loved this book. Seriously, it gave me the biggest book hangover I've had in a while. I'll tell you how this went down. I started Undone on a Sunday night, got about to the 85% mark and had to put it down because I thought I knew where it was going and if I read to the end I wouldn't get any sleep. Monday rolls around and I CANNOT stop thinking about those last 55 or so pages I had left. So, what does any die hard bookworm do? I pulled out my ereader at work and finished it. I have no shame. But then I spent the rest of the day reeling and not able to get any work done because I seriously couldn't get Luke and Embry off my mind. It was really bad (my distractedness not the book). Kind of still is. Bad to the point where I almost stalked (friendly stalked) the author down and begged to give me some info on the second book. I kept my decorum though... for the most part. However, R.E. Hunter if you're reading this, please throw us a bone! "Do you need me to explain to you how hard it is for me to be around you? How I can't think straight when you're near me? How I can't breathe when you get too close? That despite how hard it is, I find myself rationalizing all of this just to find another excuse to be near you?" ~Embry Okay back to business. This book was simply amazing. We meet Embry at the beginning of her Law School career. She's fought her way back from an emotionally traumatizing past and is ready to knuckle down and live the future she always imagined. What she never dreamed of was a seductive, blue-eyed, sex god to enter into her life and steal her attention. Luke Brody, is everything Embry wants, and everything she thinks she doesn't need. But, they can't combat the chemistry that explodes when they're together. I've read/seen a magnetic attraction before... but Embry and Luke together could melt the biggest iceberg in 2 seconds flat. They draw lines though, so she can focus on school. And they spend every other waking moment together being sickeningly adorable. So all's well and good... until it's absolutely NOT. "I came here to get away from you. I had no idea you'd be here. I just wanted one night without having to think about you... about us. But then you walked in, and I couldn't stay away. I can never stay away." ~Luke R.E. Hunter will blindside you again and again in this book. You will have a wonderful, fuzzy feeling and then she'll rip your fantasy world apart with her words. And then she'll make nice and offer you really hot scene or a sweet moment but, what you don't see is that evil grin on her face. To say Undone was a wild ride, is an understatement. This was one of those books where it took me really high on the emotional level on to let me hit rock bottom. Over and over. But it was SO good. I know I'm twisted. In all truthfulness this was a fantastically written, and well developed story that I can't wait to buy in paperback and have it sit prettily on my shelf (Yes, those are the golden words, you know this one is a winner). These characters will have you blubbering, squealing, frowning and smiling. You will be kept at the edge of your seat until you fall right off. I have to applaud Ms. Hunter for such an incredible debut novel and thank Schmexy Girl Book Blog for allowing me to be a part of this blog tour. This is one of the greats of New Adult right now and I suggest you all get those twitchy fingers clicking! Happy Reading! *ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*
Undone R.E. Hunter Release date January 6, 2014 Rating: 5 Stars Blurb: Five years ago, Embry Jacobs ran... She ran from a past that still hasn’t let her go, but her dream of becoming a lawyer is stronger than her fear of confronting that past. Embry’s sole focus is to get through law school—with the help of her best friend, Morgan—and make something of the broken girl she became. Not thinking about falling in love, being in a relationship or even entertaining the idea of romance, Embry is moving forward one day at a time. Luke Brody is charming and sexy, and has a past of his own. He wants nothing more than to put his demons to rest and move on with his life. But, when Embry enters the picture, is he destined to repeat those same mistakes? Blindsided by their instant attraction, neither Luke nor Embry are prepared for the feelings they’re developing. But will it all be for nothing? Will they let their pasts destroy them, or will they risk everything to fight for their relationship when it all comes undone? My Thoughts: Undone is the debut novel from author R.E. Hunter. This is one of the best debuts I have read in a long time. If you are looking for a book that will keep you up until the early morning this is it! I was lucky enough to read this before it was released. So I have actually read it more than once, which is a huge thing for me. I am not someone who often re-reads something. Unless it’s a book that absolutely touches me deep in my soul. This book has all that and more for me. Right from page one I was sucked in. Each page had me craving the next. Embry is a beautiful, intelligent, independent woman. She has struggled for years with her past. After a little encouragement from her BFF she is back home to attend Law School. She is determined to keep herself on track and finish her law degree without interruption…..that is until she bumps into the most beautiful man she has ever seen. She is instantly drawn to him, even though she doesn’t know anything about him. Should she take a chance on a beautiful stranger? Lucas Brody is a handsome successful man. He is also struggling with issues from his past. He is starting his own practice in a new place. While doing that he is also helping a local professor with some research. While visiting the professor he bumps into her…. Should he try to connect with her or should he just keep walking? If you want answers to these questions you NEED to read Undone. I loved this book and I know you will too. This story touches on some very heavy issues. Be prepared to laugh and cry with Embry, Luke and the rest of the crew. R.E. Hunter sure knows how to throw you a curveball which may result in wanting to throw your e-reader. Make sure to tie it down just in case! Seriously though, R.E. Hunter did an amazing job connecting us with her characters. I think we could all use a little Southern Sexy in our lives. Yes, she ends Undone with a cliffy, but it will all be worth it in the end. I am (not so) patiently waiting for book 2 in the Disclosure Series. I want to congratulate R.E. Hunter on an amazing debut. <3
Loved the book and could not stop reading did not want to put it down.  My girlfriend and I read it together and did a mini book club we laughed and texted back and forth through out the whole book.  Written great and loved that we could connect with the story since it is where we live also.  We felt like we knew Embry and "southern Sexy" and they were our friends.  Awesome book can't wait for the next one.....hope its sooner than later :)
