When not writing she can be found carting her kids around, breaking up their fights, cleaning up messes, teaching Zumba, or reading.

Great story by this new author. Character development was wonderful, loved learning about all of them, the best friend is fantastic. Refreshingly NOT an insta-love between a destitute female and a billionare story. Definitely worth the read, can't wait for the next in the series.

I read an unbelievable number of books by many authors. This is by far the best first book I have ever read. From the first page I was hooked. I was so eager to read every word and see where Erin and Walker would go. I cannot wait for book two.  I so recommend this book as a must read for all book lovers.

I enjoyed the story right from the start and found the characters well-written and likeable. Erin's emotional rollercoaster had me hooked from the start. I was rooting for her as she experienced her first one-night-stand with Walker. Then along comes reality and uncertainty like a runaway bus. I enjoyed the scene with her family and how they put her at ease. Fast forward to Mr. Prescott joining the teaching staff at her school and I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. I was eager to continue reading to find out what would happen next. Erin and Walker certainly experience their fair share of ups and downs as they are progressing in their relationship. It really was lovely to watch them grow together. The ending was pure perfection. I can't wait to read Noelle's story next!

Unexpected. The title gloriously describes the book itself. Normally debut novels leave quite a bit to be desired. I go in not expecting much and in some cases I get what I was expecting. I sometimes get let down when the description gives high hopes and the content falls flat. Let me tell you, this book? This book didn't do that. This book surprised me in a wonderful way. It left me wanting more. It left me counting the months until the second book is released. You get a story that feels like real life. You get laughter and tears. Everything I have grown to love as a reader. If you are holding out on buying Amy's book because she's new, buy it!! Then unexpectedly fall in love with Erin and Walker. I know I did.

Okay, this just may be one of the sweetest love stories I've ever read. I believe Amy Marie has nailed down every woman's dream man with Walker Prescott in her debut novel, UNEXPECTED. For sure she's perfectly characterized mine. He's tall, with dark hair, green eyes, charming, a killer body, can dance and sing, loves his job working with kids even though he's wealthy enough to not have to work, has mad skills in the bedroom and a gift for talking dirty in a very alpha man way. All things that would steal any woman's heart (give or take a few details for personal preferences), but none of that is what really makes him the perfect dream man and lands him squarely at the top of my fantasy book boyfriend list. What puts him there is the way he loves. Walker falls hard for Erin Decker the first night he meets her, but foolishly lets her slip away. When he finds himself with a second chance, when fate brings them back into each other's lives, he is determined not to make the same mistake. He devotes himself to her. He's not a bit shy at showing his adoration, his loyalty, his romantic side, his lust for her and his love. Even if he has to be a bit commanding to do it. He puts her needs first in every thing he does as he sets out to show her she's the woman he intends to love, honor and be faithful to for the rest of his life. THAT is his sexist attribute and believe me it's a tough competition when the man oozes sex appeal without even trying. And when he does have seduction in mind? Hot, hot, HOT!! Erin Decker is beautiful, smart, funny with a curvy body that makes most men drool. Unfortunately for her ex, he didn't appreciate the woman he had. This worked out well for Erin, because she deserved so much better than the cheating creep who was only holding her back. Her hilarious, though uh, slightly slutty, best friend and roommate since their freshman year of college, Noelle, knows just what to do to get Erin on the road to her fresh start. She takes her out to dance, get a little drunk and let loose. Erin is up for one night of fun, but not a one night stand, until she lays her eyes on the smoking' hot Walker whose slightest touch causes her body to shiver with arousal and anticipation. He's irresistible and she doesn't even try to deny it. But in the morning she forces herself to walk away. Amy Marie has written a tender, modern day fairytale love story that is filled with colourful well-developed characters, snappy dialogue, some seriously hot sexin', laugh-out-loud situations, typical family times, a little heartbreak, and some ex's who frankly get what they deserve. As I believe Mary Poppins said, "It's practically perfect in every way." I know I devoured every word and pouted when it was over. Not to say it didn't conclude with a wonderful HEA, because it did, but I always hate closing the cover on a great story. I am thrilled to know there will be a sequel. That the outrageous, Noelle will be getting her own love story. That I will get to revisit the friends I've made. And of course, my dreamy new book boyfriend, Walker Prescott. 5 stars ~Received a complimentary copy in exchange for a honest review.

I love, love, love this story, the lead male character is so sweet but never forgeting he has hint of alpha in him. This is a love story that will leave you falling in love all over again. You will not be disappointed once you start reading this book.

You know how sometimes you read a book from a debut author and you don’t really know how it’s gonna shake out? Yeah this isn’t  gonna be one of those times! I. Loved. This. Story!!!! Seriously, from the first chapter I loved Erin, she had spunk. Here’s this girl who seemingly has it all together (don’t we all wish  we did?) and she’s looking forward to starting the next chapter in her relationship with her long-time boyfriend, and then wham the  bottom all falls out and she is forced to re-evaluate everything. She is crushed sure but she’s gives the douche the all he’s due, calls  her best friend (finds a bottle of tequila) and gets on with the process of dealing with it all. Noelle (her somewhat crazy best friend who  I adore) basically gives her a short window to wallow and be sad, angry girl before she says “screw the feeling sorry crap, we’re going  out and getting you a rebound!” Enter Walker and combustible chemistry abounds on the dance floor as well as the hotel room, as  Erin engages in her very first one night stand. From the first encounter with Walker, Erin knows this is something different but she’s looking for nothing more than a good time. She’s  done with relationships for a while. But meeting Walker rocks her world in so many ways. When she finally sees him again, as the  new teacher she is set to mentor she knows that as much as she wants to keep him away they are drawn to each other. Walker is  truly one of those good guys that is driven and focused; when he knows what he wants, he goes for it. And did I mention that Walker  is pushy and demanding, attentive and sweet, sexy and. . .well did I mention sexy?! Walker is everything Erin never knew she wanted  or was missing from her seemingly perfect life. As they find out together that sometimes the unexpected encounter brings the most  unexpected happiness. For me Amy did everything right in this beautifully told story. The characters have depth, the story has sweet romantic moments, holy  hell sexy moments and so many laugh out loud funny moments!! Sometimes I did want to yell at Erin to just relax and go with it and in others I just wanted her to yell at Walker to calm the f**k down because he was so intense. But that’s when I know that I am  emotionally invested in a story, and who doesn’t love that in a book?! Plus the fact that the secondary characters here were interesting  and I eagerly await seeing where there stories take us. I cannot wait to see what comes next from this terrific new writer! I’m so excited that Erin and Walker decided to keep things Unexpected and early, because I’ve eagerly been waiting for the world to  get to read their story and learn about Amy Marie!! The book started off great.  Then I was thrown off at about the 20% mark and then was pulled back in the last 40% or so of the book.  Without trying to give too much away, it was basically Walker's reaction to the pregnancy that threw me for a loop.  Don't get me wrong, I liked Walker but there was just something that made me think his response was too over the top. Plus I felt like it dragged on for too long. I liked Erin too.  I loved her attitude.  She didn't put up with nonsense from anyone, unless it was her mother. I liked the different sub-plots and plot twists.  There were a couple I didn't see coming that yielded interesting information I'm going to need to store away for future books in this series.  When you read this book you'll meet a whole cast of characters you'll love and some you won't.  I am very eager to see what happens or doesn't with Noelle and Trent.  The first chapter was included with this book and it certainly piqued my interest! This is my first book by Amy Marie.  I look forward to reading her books in the future.  If you're a fan of lots of heat, humor, and a good story, then this book is one you should definitely check out.
