Brian Townsend was having one hell of a week. Rejected by his parents, kicked out of his pack and now his car breaks down on his way south. What else could go wrong? He soon finds out when the police rock up, and the sexy cop turns out to be his mate. What he didn't expect was his mate to walk away from him, without so much as a backward glance.

Marcus Holland was having one hell of a week. Breaking up with his girlfriend, and then copping an earful from his mother about settling down and having kids. All he wanted was to go home and relax. Little did he know one last call-out on his way home would change his life forever.

Can Marcus come to terms with the fact his mate is a man or will he risk losing Brian forever? However, not everyone in the pack is entirely happy with this mating.

This is a great series. Wish they were longer, as the first three books in the series were around 120 pages each.

This was good. I really liked the plot. I was very happy to see that the angst wasn't overdone or dragged out for too long, but I was also impressed that all wasn't forgiven in an instant. Brian had a rough go of it from his parents and his pack only to have his mate do the same. Marcus did it out of some weird sense of responsibility he felt to his parents to provide them with grandchildren. I'm glad he didn't take too long to decide that his happiness was more important than having biological children--which he could still have with a surrogate. I liked that Brian was willing to give Marcus another chance, but made him work for it, without going overboard. I look forward to reading about the other brothers.

I enjoyed reading Unexpected Mate. I found the dynamic between the characters and the storyline quite enjoyable and look forward to reading the other books in this series. Brian Townsend is a good person with a loving family, that is until he tells them he's gay. Those words would cost him both his family and pack, leaving him on the road to nowhere. Marcus Holland is the enforcer for his pack and part of the local law enforcement. The only thing Marcus has ever really wanted is to meet his fated mate and have a family. When Brian’s car breaks down and he is stranded on the side of the road it is Marcus who is sent out to see what has happened. The minute the two men meet they both know they have found their fated. Only Marcus has never had a male partner and the confusion leads to him to react badly sending Brian deeper into his hurt from rejection. With a reality check from his brother and Alpha, Alex, Marcus will need to face what he really wants and hope he has a chance with Brian after all he has done.
