Unforgettable You by Marci Boudreaux

Widow Carrie Gable is desperate to care for her ailing mother-in-law at home but the mounting medical bills are becoming more than she can handle. A request to board a handful of Hollywood’s most elite actors at the manor comes just in time to save her from bankruptcy. If she can survive a few months with demanding houseguests, she won’t have to worry about bills and can focus on caring for Doreen.

Will Walker has agreed to a project he has no interest in but has been reassured will save his fading career. The script is lackluster and his costar is impossible, but being around the down-to-earth innkeeper and her mother-in-law make the filming bearable. The more time he spends with Carrie, the more he longs for a simpler life, but his ties to LA aren’t ready to let him go.

With stardom pulling Will in one direction and the need to care for Doreen tugging Carrie in another, will their love be strong enough to survive their real lives?

About the Author

As a teen, Marci Boudreaux skipped over young adult books and jumped right into the world of romance novels. She's never left. Marci lives with her husband, two kiddos, and their numerous pets.

Romance is her preferred reading and writing genre because nothing feels better than falling in love with someone new and her husband doesn't like when she does that in real life.

Unforgettable! My Thoughts: This book provided by the author for an honest review. Carrie Gable is having a rough time. Her husband was killed in a robbery three years earlier and her mother in law is rapidly ailing with dementia. Trying to find a way to support herself and keep her mother in law in the home/inn that has been in her family for generations, Carrie decides to open the inn to Hollywood after a producer offers her a handsome sum for the use of the property. Although very hesitant, Carrie agrees. Unforgettable You and stars and starlets descend upon the inn. Expecting to live in servitude while the stars are present, Carrie is pleasantly surprised to find an actual human being behind the Hollywood heartthrob, Will Walker. Carrie and Will strike up an easy friendship that turns into more and soon they are spending every available moment together. Carrie is happier than she has been since the loss of her husband. However, her life comes crashing down around her when her mother in law's health fails and Will responds to Hollywood's call, leaving her alone and heartbroken. Although all seems hopeless...love prevails. I really enjoyed this story because it was a light and romantic read...very sweet. Carrie and Will were super likable and that was surprising since Will was a "star". He was affable and easy going and I love how he interacted with Carrie and Doreen. And Doreen *sigh* reading about her challenges absolutely broke my heart...especially when she was looking for her deceased son or becoming agitated to the point of violence. Her struggle was real and palatable as was Carrie's emotional response. The title of the story was also perfect in a number of ways. Unforgettable You because Doreen forgot about everyone else in her life...including her own son...but she never seemed to forget Carrie. Unforgettable You because although Will's Hollywood life pulled and tugged on his time he never...ever...forgot about Carrie. Unforgettable You had reminiscent traces of a lovely Harlequin Romance. It was the perfect balance of sweet romance, passionate tale, and engaging story. Favorite Quote: "I got pulled back into that life, Carrie. I got pulled in, and I didn't even know it. I couldn't see anything but what was right in front of me, and I just jumped in, I jumped in and I got lost in it. Like I always do. But in here," he said putting his had to his heart, "I never let you go. I got lost, but I didn't let you go."
