Overview

When the latest string of murders, sweeping New York City, lands on Detective Fitzgerald S. Rodriguez's desk, the signature evidence hits too close to home. Being unable to stop the murder of his own mother has made Fitz a jaded man. Now, he will stop at nothing to protect the one he loves.

Serial killer, Mark Chambers, is like a cat that preys on unsuspecting mice for sport. When a fresh kill no longer quenches his sexual appetite, he sets his sights on Makenna Justice. The fiery-redhead, with her emerald green eyes, ignites a fire in him that he hasn't had since his first kill.

Time is of the essence for all three of them.

Mark must feed into his desires once more without leaving a trail.

Fitz has to dig himself deep into a killer's mind to catch him.

And Makenna?—She just has to stay alive.

This book contains scenes and/or incidents of domestic violence, which may be triggering to survivors. Intended for 18+ mature readers only. Contains strong language and sexual situations, which may be offensive to some people.

Uniquely Mine by Theresa Sederholt is the first book in her Fitz series and I absolutely loved it! I inhaled it and went straight for the second book … I promise, you will most likely do the same! It is my first encounter with this writer and I know that it will not be the last, at the minimum; I will be reading all of the Fitz books! What a fantastic series! Uniquely Mine is the story of Detective Fitzgerald S Rodriguez aka Fritz, Makenna Justice aka MJ, and the serial killer Mark Chambers. The story takes place in New York City that is described in such detail that you feel like you are following the characters around. The story sucks you in from the start and keeps you on the edge of your chair until the last page and at no moment does one know how the story will develop or end, the suspense … oh my! I was literally biting my nails! I loved how the writer had developed the characters, the backstories for MJ and Fitz and their family was great, their chemistry killing (pardon the bun), I was missing though to find out more about the serial killer as we never learn who he really is beyond that his obsession with MJ and the fact that he is a serial killer. Still, the writer did a great job of putting us in his head (what a scary place) … Another aspect that I loved and that brought another dimension to the story was the multiple points of views that the story was told from!

Uniquely Mine: A Fitz Series by Theresa Sederholt 5 Stars My first book by this author and I really enjoyed it and want to check out all of her other work and also can't wait for more in this series. This was one of those stories where getting inside the mind of the bad guy was helpful through the book, definitely not fun but helpful just the same. My favorite part of the entire story was the feel of family. I loved the closeness and the fun bantering between all of them. Fitz living with so much guilt regarding his mother's murder and then being taken into a family being made to feel like one of their own by every member was heartwarming to say the least. His determination to keep them all safe was just part of the reason I fell in love with his character. Ill admit I was a bit aggravated with him a few times because he wouldn't admit feelings because he needed to focus on the case especially since that case could have caused him to never have a chance to let those feelings be known. I think Stephen was one of my favorite characters, how Fitz always paid him when they talked and the punch in the face was so matter of fact, that cracked me up, and what Dad did at the end actually had my eyes watering. An amazing read, with a lot of love, suspense, family, friendship, and of course a very sick minded individual. The story had a great flow and it was hard to put down until I finished. She has a “Unique” style to her writing and I'm now a fan!! I can't wait for more and see what the future holds for all of these characters.
