About the Author
In addition, for the past fourteen years Mark has served as a diver, diving supervisor and Training Officer for the LA Sheriff's SEB Marine Company Dive Team, the reserve component of the Emergency Services Detail (ESD). He is also a member of the Sheriff’s Diving Control Board, and a co-author of the Sheriff’s Diving Guidelines, and has received numerous letters of commendation for hazardous operations. Mark has assisted the US military with other hazardous operations, both diving and non-diving. Before entering the military, Mark was a member of the national judo team and had worked as a civil marine construction diver, and then after as a deep saturation diver in the North Sea where he racked up several thousand hours at depths down to 500 fsw. Since the tragic events of 9-11, Mark has been actively involved in the training of US military and coalition special forces for deployment in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. His Sheriff’s dive team has also been involved in Homeland Security focused on shipping and port facility security and underwater search operations.

What a great book, it is very complete and descriptive of the hard work and dedication of this great group of military navy divers. In the book there are tons of outstanding photos, the quality is wonderful, and it is a deserving tribute to those dedicated United States Navy Divers. Highly recommended - you won't be disappointed!
