About the Author

When Kate Evangelista was told she had a knack for writing stories, she did the next best thing: entered medical school. After realizing she wasn't going to be the next Doogie Howser, M.D., Kate wandered into the Literature department of her university and never looked back. Today, she is in possession of a piece of paper that says to the world she owns a Literature degree. To make matters worse, she took Master's courses in creative writing. In the end, she realized to be a writer, none of what she had mattered. What really mattered? Writing. Plain and simple, honest to God, sitting in front of her computer, writing. She is the author of Taste, Reaping Me Softly, Til Death, and Impulse. To learn more about Kate, please visit her website at www.kateevangelista.com or follow her on Twitter @KateEvangelista

YA Fantasy that doesn't disappoint in the slightest!! I was super excited to get this sequel to review for my blog! Ahhh I am so frustrated I so needed more Niko in my read but Balthazar was surprisingly interesting to read. And oh yes did I love this book! I had a thing for Death in Reaping me Softly even though he was a villain but it was agonizing to read him in this book... poor D. Anyways I really dig the sass in this book and the tit for tat between Ari and Balthazar. That was fun to read for sure. I enjoyed every step of the way on the journey to find the Redeemer before time ran out. The story was suspenseful as well so that was a plus. I liked the vast underworld that we got to see so much of in this book. It gave me so much imaginative material for future reference in the series. I liked this book alot though admittedly not as much as Reaping Me Softly. But I think that's just my Team Niko coming out. I was glued to the pages and needed to know what happened next. I like the intertwining of the real world and the Underworld. This is a brilliant YA Fantasy series with memorable characters and a great plot. I had to tell myself to imagine this is Arianne's story, and not so much Ari and Niko's story, because I love Ari & Niko... together and we definitely get more Ari in this read. And OMG Zakariel, great character!! Maybe one of my faves, ooh and Carrie didn't disappoint, I love Ari's crazy best friend! I laughed and nearly cried too! It ventured to a place called love triangle which is something I really don't like but in this case I felt like it was more of a revelation to Balthazar that he could feel things he had no idea he was capable of feeling. I enjoyed watching the development of it and I dreaded what was going on. I was scared the whole time for Niko, I wanted nothing more than him saved and safe. It was on my mind the entire read! LOL Sorry I'm all Team Niko, although Balthazar was a swoon worthy bad boy! I wasn't disappointed with the book because it was definitely intriguing and a captivating read. The story... loved it! The plot... Twisted! The characters... yes please. Really a great cast in this book! I cannot wait to see what's next for the Reaper Series and the cliffhanger left me reeling! Kate Evangelista is rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors! But OMG I so need book three!! Aaah!

This 2nd book in the Reapers series was by no means a disappointment. I just love Kate Evangelista. She has a knack for words and storyline ideas that make you wonder what your dreams may actually be like. (I still rank Taste to be one of my all time favorites that should be a TV series!) Let me start off the covers on Kate Evagelista are truly worthy to the story itself. I love it when the cover draws you in and the author backs in up with an amazing story, well written and truly intriguing that doesn’t leave you flipping through the pages to get to a better part. Kate does, however, leave you reading non-stop so you can find out what is going to happen next. Before long the book is over and you wander how long you have to wait for the next installment... The Underverse and the character of Balthazar are ones that I definitely want more of. Balthazar, bad boy through and through makes you want the villain to win the heart of Arianne by the end of the book. Balthazar is paired up with Arianne to find the Redeemer to pull the dagger out of “D”. Not a pleasure trip in Balthazar’s mind to travel the Underverse with Arianne who is doing it for Niko’s humanity , plus be allowed to keep her eyesight and memories in the process and be allowed to return to the human world. Balthazar wants to rule the Underverse so basically he sucks it up so he can get what he wants too. He strikes a deal with “D’ that once “D” has his strength back that the two of them will fight for the position of ruler of the Underverse. Balthazar also requires that as Arianne’s protector and escort throughout this adventure, he wants a year of her life. I hate reading spoilers so I don’t like writing them in reviews. But my opinion is that this is truly a great read. Thank you Kate for another amazing book!!!

UnReap My Heart is Better Than The First Book in “The Reaper Series”!!! I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. Kate Evangelista did an amazing job of continuing her “The Reaper Series”, UnReap My Heart drew me in right from the beginning and I could not put this book down.  Sometimes, the next book in a series isn’t as good as the first and leaves you disappointed but not UnReap My Heart, it is even better than Reaping Me Softly.   The book starts with Arianne waking up from a dream in a room alone and scared.  She realizes she still has her eyesight and her memories of Niko, which she shouldn’t have after the deal she made with Death.  She quickly discovers that something went wrong with her bargain with Death to save Niko (the Reaper of Georgia) and get his humanity back.  What she finds leaves her stunned and she soon discovers only she can help save Death and in return for her help he will be able to save Niko.  She must travel the Underverse with the help of the very bad and sexy Balthazar, who has his own agenda and reasons for agreeing to protect Ari and keep her safe on their journey to find the one person, The Redeemer, who can save Death. Will they be able to travel the journey through the Underverse without killing each other or being killed?  This book is amazingly written and leaves you craving more!!  I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.  I fell totally in love with Balthazar and his relationship with Ari and I must have more of these characters!!!  I highly recommend this series to all ages!!

Arianne has struck a deal with Death but before her part in the bargain can be fulfilled Death is struck down by Brianne's Bitterness. It is a blade that only the Redeemer can remove. Arianne is the only one who can find the Redeemer in the Underverse and must journey with Balthazar to find them. Balthazar has one goal to heal death and challenge him for the position. He has to find the Redeemer to finish his goals. The only problem is he has to travel with Arianne and that is the last thing he wants. She makes him look at all things different and he has to keep her safe. Both find more than they were looking for on their journey. I loved the first book in this series. When the first one ended I was dying to see what happened next. I will say this wasn't what I expected. It was so much more than what I would have guessed. For in large part that has to do with Balthazar. He is bad, he is dangerous, he is a mystery in some ways and he is so yummy. At first I figured he was the typical bad guy. He sure seemed liked it but as he makes his journey with Arainne he begins to open up. You see more and more of what made him the way he is. He does what he can to protect Arianne even when you think he is not. I couldn't get enough of him. Arainne for those that read the first book and didn't like her much you may like her a little more in this book. She begins to question how well she know Niko and if she truly loves him. She has to face many different creatures in the Underverse and learns about them. She really acts more grown up and she still has to face many difficult things. I love reading about all the different creatures in this book. There is something for any paranormal fan and this book will definitely stand out as great. As a side note I have to say like the first book I love love the cover of this one. I would recommend this book and series to anyone who loves a paranormal book.

Oh Miss Evangelista how could you leave me hanging like that? After all we went through together. The connection myself and I'm sure countless others had with Balthazar then you do that. tsk tsk but how i loved this book. I found Arianne grew up and was glad she was questioning the undying love she had for Niko. but the shining star in all his magnificently dark glory was Balthazar, what a man! the first book for me felt it didn't give the series justice but boy oh boy am i glad i decide to read book 2. My only problem now is that i cant find a release date or info about book 3! oh and for the record i thought death was a nice guy through out book one until of course the ending but now i feel like i misjudged him the whole time and he is just a sneaky S.O.B

Unreap My Heart is the second book in The Reaper series by Kate Evangelista. The unpredictability that I loved in the first book of this series continued on in this book too. There were many twists ans turns. This book keeps you on your toes. I love the tension between Arianne and Balthazar. I know I shouldn't like Balthazar. He told us all through the story how he wasn't a good guy. Me thinks he doth protest too much. I mean, he is pretty bad. Don't get me wrong, and I probably like him a lot more than I should. But, I think there's hope for him. I love how he interacts with Arianne. Actually, his interactions with everyone can be pretty entertaining. After reading the book, the cover makes me giggle now. The look on his face and the stubborn stance is so completely Balthazar. He's a one of a kind character. I liked this series before, and now with Balthazar... I'm hooked. In fact, I updated my Top Books of 2013 list that I posted earlier in the week to include Unreap My Heart. I liked it that much! The ARC of Unreap My Heart by Kate Evangelista was provided to me by the publisher for review. The opinions are my own.
