New to me author. The story begins with a set of twins named Natasha and Sean. After a car accident, Sean just up and disappears after some weird fire stuff. As the story continues, Natasha's family moves into her grandmothers home in another state. This is her last year of high school and now it is in a new place making new friends. Natasha is rather freaked to learn a few of those friends know exactly what is happening and as she begins to learn, she knows one thing. It is freaky. Natasha does not know who to trust but in the end she places her trust on the one who captured her attention in the beginning. The ending leaves us with a cliffhanger, The story is well written although it does not give us much back story. I found myself confused in many areas of the story like I was not getting enough but overall it was a fascinating read. I was gifted this book for my honest review.

I have read 3 other books by Shane Morgan which have been Young and New Adult Contemporary Romances. For me, Unresisting is a step outside my ‘Shane Morgan’ comfort zone and I was also reminded that, in fact, it was her debut novel. Unresisting is a baptism of fire . . literally! In the first chapter, Nat watches flames explode from her palms as her twin brother, Sean, disappears into a pile of ash. The loss of Sean has a profound effect on Nat, especially when she realises that no-one will believe her story. It is not until her family’s move to Stetson Valley that the puzzle of her life begins to fit together. Love triangles are possibly one of my least favourite elements of any romance, but Nat sits right at the centre of one here. On one side is the persistent Jesse and the other is the “weird” Chace. Both young men seem immediately drawn to Nat, but it is Chace whom she chooses, perhaps because he seems to hold answers to so many of her questions, ” My mom always told me you’d somehow come to me one day, that we’re supposed to be together. She said that there’s always someone born just for us. And as long as we were together, then I’d survive. Nat, you’re going to decide whether or not I live past my eighteenth birthday next year.” Although the relationship between Nat and Chace is an important part of Unresisting, Shane Morgan does not allow it to overwhelm more essential parts of the story, like the existence of a parallel world in which fire starters and light bearers are born. It is this concept which ties Jesse, Chance and Nat together tighter and places our main female character in a danger she would never have imagined possible. In Unresisting, Nat grows in strength as we watch her gain control over her powers – and making humorous mistakes! Shane Morgan maintains a three-way balance between the story’s fantasy, it’s romance and suspense. I think the author allows us to connect with her characters, in particular Nat, because certain plot details are revealed to us all at the same time. Unresisting ends with an explosive cliffhanger and if I wasn’t convinced I needed to grab a copy of Unfearing before Nat’s final two words, I certainly was after them! I am really excited to recommend Shane Morgan’s Paranormal Romance to other readers! *I received this as a complimentary copy, in exchange for an honest review*

* I received an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. * I have read author Shane Morgan's other books/series and have to say that they are all amazing! There is no way to choose just one of her books as my favorite, and reading this one didn't help with this decision either.  This was the first book in this series and I have to say that it is just as riveting, smooth flowing, quick paced and exciting as all of her others!  I love the way that she develops the characters, the banter between them and the overall storyline.  Author Shane Morgan hit it out of the park with this one and I am looking forward to book 2 in the series so that I can see how Nat and her family overcome their issues and the death of Sean.  I am also excited about the aspect of the "magic" that Morgan has infused into this series.  It is intriguing, unique and fun! A total must-read for anyone who loves drama, magic and a bit of love. Nat and Chase are like the ultimate power couple.  They are in tune with each other and are able to figure out what strengths they draw from each other as well as highlight their weaknesses, and one of those weaknesses may be Jesse....Chase is a part of the Ledarians, and Jesse is an Arhaenian, and they are each other’s enemies....but Natasha has brought them closer than they want to be.  I can't wait to dive into the rest of the series and I know that it will be just as amazing as all of the other books that she has written. Add this one and all of her others to your TBR list ~ they are just too good to pass by!  If you don't read anything by this amazing up and coming author you will be missing out on some wonderful stories, lessons and characters!  Enjoy!!
