Unseen Messages by Pepper Winters

"Instincts are what keep us safe from fate. Ignoring them can change your life forever."

Fame and fortune arrived overnight and after months on the road with her singing tour, all Estelle craves is peace. Tired and ready for paradise, she travels to Fiji to recuperate.

Stubborn and surly, Galloway is avoided by most--which is exactly the way he likes it. However, he's done spending his life in regret and hopes to find redemption in the tropical wilderness.

Together, they board the flight that changes their fate forever.  Crash landing on a deserted island, they not only have to figure out how to survive with no skills and daily dangers--learning how to fish, find water, and build shelter--but also inherit two children who look to them to keep them alive.

However, staying alive might be the least of Galloway and Estelle's problems. As days creep to months and rescue doesn't find them, their desire for each other ignites.

They started as strangers.
They grew to be friends.
They fought the desire to be lovers.

Lust can be the most beautiful thing. Love the most rewarding. But not on an island where life hangs by a thread and giving into temptation can kill you.

From New York Times Bestseller Pepper Winters comes a timeless love story answering the question of what happens when everything is stripped away. Standalone.

This book is very different from the others I've read from this very talented author . It's a very touching story of survival and loss but how the human spirit can adapt and flourish to make something beautiful . Thank you Ms Winters for this wonderful story.

I loved and enjoyed reading the engaging, heartbreaking, intriguing, outstanding story by the wonderfully talented Pepper Winters. Estelle receives several unseen messages to not board the plane and ignores them all. She is on a small, uncharted plane with a family with two children and another man, Galloway, when the plane crashes on a deserted island killing the pilot and the both of the children's parents. Struggling to survive without medical help, food, water, shelter, and the basic necessities is challenging. Galloway figures out a way to start to save some water to drink. Even though everyone works together to try to find food and make some kind of shelter, it is a constant struggle to survive another day on the island. Read the highly recommended, beautifully written, captivating story of Estelle and Galloway's survival.

If you liked ON THE ISLAND, you’ll unquestionably adore UNSEEN MESSAGES. 4 Stars | Hot Steam I’ve had a fascination with survival stories for as long as I can remember. So, when I learned that the acclaimed Pepper Winters was releasing her own unique take on the genre with UNSEEN MESSAGES, I leapt at the chance to read it. My one laughable mistake was believing that I could start it at bedtime and be able to put it aside at some point to go to sleep. Ha! Not a chance. By the end of the first few chapters, I was wide awake, completely wrapped up, and on the edge of my seat, anxious and eager to find out what was going to happen next. Fresh, ambitious, unpredictable, immensely exciting, and deliciously sexy, this epic nail-biter of a novel is an engrossing and richly satisfying adventure that stays with you for days. Page after page, Estelle and Galloway's rich and harrowing tale held my emotions captive and made my pulse race as the marooned strangers struggled to stay alive in the unfathomable new reality thrust upon them. I was riveted as—against all possible odds and despite endless hardship, trials, and sobbing heartbreak—they didn’t just manage to survive, but learned to co-exist and, eventually, brilliantly thrive. Equally enthralling and powerful was the fated couple’s wonderfully interwoven romance. Inspiring, beautiful, and scorching hot, I swooned and melted as Estelle and Galloway fell breathlessly in love with one another. Their stunning ardor and endless devotion to one another brought tears to my eyes time and time again. And their scintillating passion? It was flat-out unforgettable, incendiary perfection! Moved, uplifted and blissfully sated, I closed UNSEEN MESSAGES with a misty-eyed smile. Not only did I get to delight in experiencing a fabulous book, but I also gained a brand new auto-buy author to enjoy in the future! Preferably the very near future! (I might be simultaneously downloading all of Pepper Winter’s available backlist titles as I type this…) Complimentary copy provided in exchange for an honest review.

PEPPER, YOU TOTALLY BLASTED IT AGAIN!! THIS BOOK IS ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY AMAZING!!! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would give it a 10! This story had me on the first page. It was so so worth the wait. The characters are fantastic. This story touched my heart like nothing I've read before. I'm so excited about this book! Galloway Oak wants to be an architect and is going to Figi to start an apprenticeship and if he doesn't get there by the time and date they gave him then he loses the job. Estelle Evermore is going home to Austrailia after a long tour singing and writing music. She's so exhausted and all she wants to do is get back to her cat and the quiet serenity of her home. Although her best friend Madi keeps trying to get her to take a relaxing trip with her and let her hair down. They just so happen to be on the same flight. The plane hits a storm and some aweful turbulence. The plane has to land in Figi and they cancel ALL flights leaving the island until the storm has passed. Everyone is to go to a hotel but Estelle and Galloway are put on a transit taxi with a family of four. Duncan Evermore, the father, Amelia is the mother, a five year old daughter Pipa and a nine year old son Conner. They are on a much needed family vacation and are really wanting to get to their destination to relax and start their vacation. It's a really crazy coinsidence that Estelle and the family have the same last name but are no relation. They pester the taxi driver to help them find a pilot who will fly in the storm and take them to where they need to go and are willing to pay alot of money. They find one and Estelle decides to go along and enjoy herself for a couple of weeks. The pilot informs them all before their flght that his helicopter doesn't have an emergency tracker beacon incase of a crash but they all still agree to go anyway. And then the story blew up my Nook! The writing was so detailed that I felt like I was watching a movie instead of reading a book. I fell madly in love with these characters. The suspense is so intense my heart was racing in my chest and I could feel their emotions coming off the pages. At times I was crying so hard I couldn't catch my breath. I felt as if these people were a part of my family. Is that crazy? To get so completely involved in a book that you feel as if you've become a part of it. My husband thinks I'm crazy and just looks at me and shakes his head. Lol. Anyway, you have got to read this book to understand. I don't want to give anything away so I EXTREMELY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO EVERYONE!!! It's over 500 pages of happiness, laughter, intense suspense, angst, gut wrenching sadness and extreme love. THANK YOU PEPPER, AS ALWAYS YOU COMPLETELY NAILED IT!

Pepper Winters never fails to blow me away with her writing. I found her by accident last year and now follow her writing religiously. This book took me on a journey of fear, heartache, happiness, tears, and joy that I haven’t experienced with a book in years. I cannot sing the praises enough!

Wow. Stunning. Epic. Powerful. Moving. Inspiring. I’m not even sure how to begin a review that will do this book justice even rudimentally. To say something about it that hasn’t been said a dozen times before, to express its uniqueness. Yes, you could even say I’m almost afraid to review it. One thing I do know though: This book is a life-changing experience and I will try to live by it from now on: Life is precious, don’t take it for granted and try not to ignore its little messages it is trying to send to you. With UNSEEN MESSAGES Pepper Winters proves that she has to offer so much more than a captivating trip to the dark side of romance. She is an incredibly talented author with a beautiful, vivid and melodic writing style and with each of her stories you fall more in love with her. There is a true meaning and power, an insurmountable depth to her words that leaves you breathless. This story is written from her heart – and you can feel that in every single letter. If all of this wasn’t enough, she openly admits the how much this story means to her personally and how nervous she is about even putting it out there, revealing the inspiration behind the story. I really do admire this woman wholeheartedly and wish that she gets all the attention and positive feedback she deserves. This story… I’m struggling to find the right words… This story is the kind that stays with you forever. A story that makes you think, questioning how many messages you might have overlooked, if you are truly on the correct path or if the universe clearly tried to urge you to choose otherwise. A story that brings you to tears just thinking about it – my eyes won’t stay dry while I’m writing this. A story that gives you a hard time opening another book and being able to really immerse yourself in this new world, because you expect – no, you CRAVE – to read more about Estelle and Galloway… only that there is no more. Almost 600 pages and it’s still not enough. I rarely reread a book, but I have a feeling that I am going to make an exception for this unique and epic tale of survival and love. I’m not going to say anything more about the storyline – Pepper has kept us in the dark and waiting for tidbits of information for so long, and I don’t dare to spoil anything for you to be able to enjoy and devour the story to its full extent; to discover the lessons of courage and survival yourselves. Despair. Heartbreak. Fear. Happiness. Sadness. Anger. Frustration. Grieve. Passion. Love. These are just a few emotions that wrecked me while reading. And those characters… I’m trying to remember if there ever was a time I bonded so strongly with any character before – let alone with 4-5 of them in only one book – and I’m coming up empty. I fell for them all and loved all of them for different reasons, which is another testament to Pepper’s brilliant writing. And this cover! Those colors, those details! Absolutely stunning! Such an indescribably beautiful addition to my book shelf! There are not enough good aspects to be said about this book. It is magnificent inside and out. This is truly a beauty not to be missed! I would give it a dozen stars or more if I could! Whether you are new to Pepper’s work or have devoured everything written by her before – drop what you’re doing right now and pick up this book – it just might affect you as much as it did me.

Where do I even begin? I'm just so awed by this story, I can't even begin to express what I'm feeling right now. There's so much I want to say but can't due to spoilers, so I'll keep this short and sweet. This book is definitely one that will leave it's imprint on your soul, such a touching and emotional story. I closed my eyes last night and relived it all in my dreams. Pepper Winter's has a very special way with her words that gets the reader right in there with her characters, not just feeling everything but experiencing everything. Don't be scared off by the size of this book, it is very large and may take you a little longer than desired to finish but trust me, it's all worth it in the end. I simply loved every minute of it and will be keeping this one very close for a reread. An unforgettable, heartfelt story you'll want to get your hands on and devour. One for the ages!!

I received a advanced copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. I am used to Pepper Winters dark, sexy reads so I was looking forward to reading something a little different then what she usually gives us. I give this book 3.5 stars I enjoyed the storyline and the characters created and the thought put into this beautiful love story. But I struggled with the length of the book. It felt very drawn out to me and at times I felt myself getting bored. I love Pepper's writing style and the stories she tells and the feeling she put into her books. So I look forward to what comes next.

4.5 stars--UNSEEN MESSAGES by Pepper Winters focuses on survival, love, forgiveness and moving forward. Told from dual first person points of view (Galloway Oak and Estelle Evermore) UNSEEN MESSAGES follows Estelle and Galloway as they embark on two separate journeys that will merge together when disaster strikes. Desperation and need forced six people to pursue a dangerous trek that resulted in a fatal flight, four lost castaways, and several years of eking out an existence on an unknown island. What ensues is a tale of survival, love, loss and the potential for something more. At the outset of the story Estelle Evermore battles a series of unfortunate events that begs to keep our heroine from getting on her flight. These ‘messages’ are ignored by Estelle although deep in her mind she knows that something bad is about to happen but chooses to get on the doomed flight-one way or another. Meeting Galloway Oak places Estelle in the company of the man with whom she would share the next several years on an island where their small and mismatched family would struggle to survive. Starvation, dehydration, bugs, poisonous fish, and a lack of shelter find our foursome dependent upon one another to persevere against the elements and one another. UNSEEN MESSAGES follows four people as they endure heartbreak and loss, pain and suffering, falling in love and letting go. Akin to ‘Castaway’ their rescue comes with more difficulties, the strangeness of big city living, and a media and law enforcement that demands answers now. While Estelle hides a secret about her life, Galloway’s darkened past forces the couple apart upon their return home. Pepper Winters blends elements of ‘Castaway’, ‘Lost’, ‘Blue Lagoon’, and ‘Swiss Family Robinson’ into a tale that is all her own. Four people who struggle against the odds, focusing on survival and loss, hoping to one day return to the people they love. There are moments of heartbreaking sorrow and grief; life is never easy on an unchartered island. Each evening our castaways would write messages in the sand to be swept away by the tide, never to be seen. The premise is a journey of the heart and soul; where two people find love and a happily ever after amongst the elements; where one soul will find completion before its time. UNSEEN MESSAGES looks at the strength and resilience of the human spirit; where life continues to blossom with or without the reality of modern man.

An Outstanding Read! FIVE STARS!!!!! First, YOU NEED THIS BOOK!!!! Period. Don't hesitate. Just one-click it and dive in. Second, this book blew me away. Completely. Pepper snatched my heart from my chest, played with it, stomped on it a bit, shoved it back in and nursed it back to health. In other words, I felt it. Every. Single. Word. It was not the typical dark read from Pepper. It was a beautiful, moving, angst-filled, powerful roller coaster of a ride. Pepper created soul-mates, bound together through every cursed and hopeful situation imaginable. At one point, I was a blubbering, crying mess because I was deeply invested in the characters of Estelle and Galloway. My couch was littered with tissues and my eyes were blurry as I raced to the end of their story. And it was worth every single tear I shed for them. Having said that, it WAS a typical Pepper Winters book. The story was full of vivid emotions, slowly revealed secrets, passionate physical attractions, loving intimacy, dark foreboding, uncontrollable destiny and an all-consuming love between a man and woman. It was a phenomenal love story that stayed with me long after I finished the book. Unseen Messages now sits on my Ultimate Book List reserved only for books that evoke the deepest of feelings. If I could give it SIX STARS, I would! (This ARC was kindly provided in return for an honest review.)
