I will freely admit that prior to reading this book, I had no idea who Ben Angel is or was. But the premise of the book, showing us, the readers, how he overcame depression and debilitating fatigue by "re-engineering" his body by analyzing how his body absorbs nutrition, which foods the body works less well with, his vitamin intake, minerals, work-out procedures, sleep habits, even experimenting with nootropics and other things that frankly are a little far out there, at least for my liking. That being said, he gives a lot of good advice, many of his suggestions are sound and worth implementing, especially in today's culture where many of us work harder than ever but are eating poorer quality food or foods where we honestly don't know how our bodies react to it in terms of absorption, energy etc. I learned a lot from this book, and there are things that I have already implemented and others that I will try out and also some parts I will entirely stay away from. For those fighting with depression or fatigue that cannot easily be attributed to one thing, this book and the suggestions in it are worth checking out.
This book was life changing for me. I have been in a rut of depression and anxiety for years looking for solutions to be more energetic and happy. Seminars, books, workshops, hiring mentors.... all telling me it's possible to live the life of my dreams, I just need to be more positive. I tried vision boards, declarations, mediation, working out, eating better, journaling, always just to snap back into my comfort zone and to get sucked into the same cycle of wondering what's wrong with me and why can't I break through to be who I wanted to be. I came across this book via a Facebook promoted ad and read Ben's experience which was exactly what I had been going through. When the book arrived I dove right in, eager to find the answers. It filled me with hope and made me feel not so crazy about why my success wasn't happening. It all started to make sense to me and the book provided me with real solutions and lit a fire in me that I have never experienced with any other self development previously encountered. Within a week of taking the recommended supplements and using his visualization techniques, my energy is through the roof and I finally feel like Im on the path my life was intended to be on. I am recognizing the true effects stress was playing in my life and have used the tools Ben teaches to catch those patterns earlier and breaking the cycle of havoc they were playing in my physical and mental health. I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn more about how our bodies and minds work together and for anyone wanting to learn how to unlock more energy or reduce their stress. This book has been the best investment I've made in years and Im so glad I came across it. I plan on buying copies to gift to my family as this book has helped me truly find a game plan that works.
